2-run double for Wilson Betemit won it for Charlotte.

Good to see Marquez have his first good game.

:o

Alright... my first reverse psychology win of the year. ;)

And good for Wilson Betemit... who has hits in 5 of the 7 games he's played so far.

5 of the top 10 rbi leaders in the southern league are barons including league leader stefan gartrell

they also lead the league in runs and fewest runs given up

good team

They threw Huntsville a pity win. Danks said he doesn't feel like he needs surgery. Take that for what it's worth.

Everyone is saying there was no serious damage found, why in the world would he need surgery?

I see Betemit had an error today, which is 3 since he started down there. That glove he has is made out of concrete

Too bad. Betemit looked downright resurrgent at the plate in ST. He was supposed to provide what Mackowiak did in 2006 off the bench as PH, and back up Jim Thome as DH in case of injury. I guess he needs more regular playing time to stay sharp.

Fielding? Not so much.

He said he feels like he doesn't need surgery. Just confirming what everyone else said and that he feels the same.

Just saw something small but worth noting...

3 runners attempted to steal against Flowers today...

He threw out 2 of them.

-----------------------------------------

Overall, his defensive stats look much better than they did last year (his first full year as a catcher).

Wow, I still don't like hearing someone saying he feels that he doesn't need surgery cause that means it was at least a thought at one point. I hope everything works out okay. Sweeney, Anderson and Jeremy Reed (after he left Chicago) both missed significant development time and in some instances might have flopped due to wrist injuries (ie, Reed).
