I dont see them as must keeps like Kaner, Steeg, Toews, etc. I think Hjalms and Keith are a tier above them.

That doesn't make Seabs and Barker any less good. The two guys you mentioned are two of the best in the game.

I know they are, I'm just saying if we need to move people, they wouldnt make my must keep list, thats all. We are going to have to have a roster turnover of several of the players on this team while keeping maybe 8 core guys in place.

The terrible Maple Leafs come to town tonight.

If the Hawks don't drop 5 or 6 on them tonight, I will be disappointed.

As long as they keep winning before The Trip, I will be happy. I get happier everytime I hear that Hossa is progressing well too.

Not quite NHL, but if you guys have some free time or want to hear what I sound like, I'll be doing my 1st live hockey play by play call tonight for GVSU vs Western Michigan. I'm really excited. It'll only be audio so it's free if you guys want to tune in.

It'll be a bit rough, but it's our fist game so cut me a little slack. Feel free to critique though...

Jesus does Toronto suck. I know their record is bad, but this is the first time I have seen them this year.

20 shots in the first by the Hawks, they lead 2-0, it could be a lot more.

You're spot on. The Maple Laffs are...well...laughable. They have one guy who honestly scares me (Kessel). This game might end at something like 6-0.

Soft goal by Huet there...

That move by Toews on the other hand... I think Eddie O said it right when he said "I pulled my groin on that move!"

He is starting to turn into the nice power forward that was expected of him the last few years. Nice to see.

He sure had a nice power to the face during his scrap too. :fight

Phil Kessel is a stud though. I actually remember him last year.. Wasn't he on Boston or Pittsburgh? Good find/trade by the front office.

Boston. He wasn't really a tough find. The guy is good.

A rough 3rd, but the Hawks hang on for their 6th straight win at home, and their 61st straight sellout at home.

Boston basically had to dump his contract for draft picks because they couldn't fit him into the cap IIRC.

Hopefully we won't have to do that with the big 3.

They have a lot of other payroll they can still move.

Boston got the Maple Leafs 1st round pick (+ others) for Kessel, therefore, Boston will likely be getting a top 4 pick back for him.

Theres a strong rumor going around that Kane and Toews are real close to signing long term extensions, and they expect announcements as early as next week.

I just saw that on sportsrise on CSN. Sweet.

Good deal!

Now just figure something out for Keith and have Huet continue to look like an NHL #1 goalie and things are looking good!

Well that and get guys healthy. This team matches up with anyone.

Yeah, this is why the United Center is more Wrigley Field than Chicago Stadium:

I can't keep track of numbers

I'm trying to act older and more hardened than I am

Awesome come from behind victory against San Jose. Great work by Toews on that OT goal.
