Universal Pictures has set Bryan Singer to direct and produce a feature version of "Battlestar Galactica" NOT based on the recent, critically acclaimed Sci-Fi Channel series...but a new imagining.

This makes ZERO sense...other than to capatalize on the Star Trek movie

Already saw that 4 times.

District 9 with a 94% Rotten Tomatoes score. I know what I'll be seeing this weekend.

Dying to see that.

RT score now only at 91%. I'm going to have to pass now. I only see movies that are 92% or greater on that site. /sarcasm

Anyone going to see Julie & Julia? It looks cute.

It looks very good, but I'll wait for DVD on that one.

You can't go wrong with Amy Adams.

Honky? That's Racist!

I'm watching Ray for the first time. I didn't realize Ray Charles was such a scumbag. And while looking him up on Wikipedia, I also found out he had 12 kids with 9 different women. Really altered my perception of the guy.

Maybe he couldn't tell they were different women.

District 9 was fantastic.

Don't want to start a new thread...

The HBO documentary "Assault in the Ring" about the Resto/Collins fight in 1983 is excellent. If you have a chance to watch it, I'd highly recommend it.

I second this.

Went to see "The Goods." The theater lost power just about halfway through the movie. This happened to me last summer when I went to see "The Dark Knight." I was only 20 minutes into that movie. What I saw was funny.

District 9 brought it, served it and then kicked my ass as I was having dessert! Fantastic film. :headbang

I loved the first 70% or so of District 9, but it really seemed to shift gears and just turn into a sci-fi action movie for the last 45 minutes. Not bad, just not as good as the rest.

Obviously I wanted to see District 9 this weekend, and will do so with some buddies this week.

That being said, I owed one to my wife and saw "The Time Traveler's Wife".

It was a f***ing good movie. I held back the tears, too. Call me what you will, though, that movie was great.

My wife prefers movies like "The Goods." She was the one who wanted to go see it. No sappy chick flicks for me. :headbang
