July 21, 200916 yr Does anyone remember specific trades that were rumored with Fields involved? Back when he was a good piece that is. Kenny at least loved that particular prospect a bit too much. Edited July 21, 200916 yr by Princess Dye
July 21, 200916 yr Was Fields ever a part of the Soriano deal. I know Bmac did, but don't remember Fields.
July 21, 200916 yr Josh Fields for Scott Linebrink was talked about a lot when our bullpen was struggling in 2006-2007.

July 22, 200916 yr Fields was supposedly the centerpiece, or one of the centerpieces, in the Miguel Cabrera trade. IIRC Gio, Danks, and Sweeney were also involved. In hindsight, the Marlins would have been better off taking the Sox package because Johnny Danks alone is a lot better than anything they got. Glad the Sox didn't offer to take on DTrain though.

On the other hand, also a top 10 list of prospects that he dealt to other teams that never worked out for their new teams. I have to think he would come out ahead over all. Another question, what could we get for Fields now?

Held onto too long Jeff Liefer (maybe more Schueler) Fields Matt Ginter Barcelo Malone Rauch Dellaero Brian West Joe Borchard for sure Brian Anderson Lance Broadway Kyle McCulloch Jerry Owens Kris Honel

Ya - I kind of like our return on that one. Most of the other guys listed wouldn't even have been able to net this.
