I like the AJ approach not to even bother throwing a lot better than the throw it into CF that Castro prefers.

Pods is having a pathetic series. Could reality finally be setting in?

Yes

when you positon your team like a softball league with homeruns and no defense , you are going to get this.

Chink in the Sox armor is glaringly large lately. Poor defense. How does a .166 hiter get to you for 2 hits in a game?

Easy. The Twinkees play out of their ass every time they play the Sox. Simple enough. They are very mediocre, but sometimes I think they would beat our ass 70% of the time if we just straight up played them. They are in the Sox's heads.

Oh, f*** you. Alexei

Yep, not a great throw, but Alexei should have had the ball. Again. He's a complete and total liability. End that f***ing experiment now, please. Thanks much.

Castro short-armed the throw and Alexei ole'd it.

Interesting story, as Bruce Levine basically said today that AJP isn't the only Sox player who's sick of Alexei being afraid to get down and dirty in the field.

So at what point do you consider DFA Castro? He's been terrible at the plate and behind the plate.

I believe this is about three throwing errors in his last few games behind the plates anyway

lead off walk, will score and game over.

it's like playing tic-tac-toe against the WOPR

Yes

If reality = bad defense, sure.

Yes

If it is, he had a run I didn't think possible.

Awesome, here comes Randy “Sinister Eyebrows” Williams!

Wasn't there a point in time how you were saying he calls much better game than AJ?

"Right now, I'd piss on a sparkplug if I thought it would help."

We have 4 hits in 21 at bats so far tonight. The game ain't over, but we may be about to go 1-6 vs. our divisional rivals on this trip after this game. Yuk.

Yes, I think he does call a very good game. However, he's not making errors behind the plate and his offense is worse than Toby Hall's was.

twins were on their way out of this race coming into this series; now, they're right back in it. they must cream their pants with the sox coming to town.

Bringing a lefty in to pitch two batters too late. Baptism of fire for Williams so maybe we have officially folded?

i agree, beckham should be at ss. so...put alexei back at 2b?

I’m not afraid to say this, because I know we’ll compete even if we sell. KW, break this s*** up.

Very, very long leash for Contreras tonight.

Levine's about as useful as a balm bag, but there's probably some validity to this. After all, last spring training when he played the outfield, Alexei was pretty clearly afraid of the wall.

Also hitting .272 / .333 / .348 in July... definitely starting to regress to the mean

You are just not gonna win many games scoring 2 and 3 runs a game. Just not gonna happen.

Couldn't agree more.
