After you compared Beckham to Francouer I thought you were done making ridiculous threads.

 

 

1. Have you been watching lately or just looking at the boxscores? CQ is hitting the ball pretty hard. He almost single handedly beat the Yankees a week ago, and even his outs have been tough outs.

 

2. People may have been tired of Paulie for KILLING us last year, because he KILLED us for the entire 2003 season. (maybe we make the playoffs if he decided to show up that season) CQ will hear it from sox fans if he hurt us for long periods of time that are similar to Konerko slumps.

 

3. The timing for your thread is comical, CQ is hitting .316 with a 1.093 OPS the last 7 days.

I love Carlos, but we will never see him healthy again. In two years, he will be a fond memory of what might have been.

That's not exclusive to Soxtalk, though, but most fans our age and younger. Neurotic and hard to please.

That won't happen because he'll be too busy hurting himself for long periods of time.

I will say this... if it was back at the trade deadline (or perhaps this upcoming offseason)... it would be interesting in this climate what already-paid player a team would give up for CQ's cheap contract.

 

As great as Carlos was last year, if we're honest with ourselves, we can get at least somewhat close to his 08 production from another corner outfielder. And healthier.

 

It's like moving Carlos Lee in a way. Quentin is a better hitter but sometimes you have to bite the bullet to fill niche spots like leadoff hitter, etc. As great as Pods has been, we still need a young leadoff hitter.

 

 

 

Hopefully, Carlos destroys it the rest of this year and we can never cross this bridge.

I just like to point out things in which I find fault. And don't worry, I won't ignore you so I can continue "cherry-picking," ha.

Nice at bat tonight by CQ on that shot to rightfield. Looked like the CQ we loved last year.

It would be a big mistake to move CQ in my opinion because injuries are the only thing thats in his way of being MVP status.

 

His last couple on injuries have been of the freakish sort,I see too much potential in him to give up for a healthier but inferior player.
