I've got a question about Koch and the games he's pitched in. Does anyone know in the games that Koch has pitched in, how many times has Koch given up 1 or more runs vs. how many times he's pitched and not given up any runs. It just seems to me like every time he pitches we have to expect at least one run to go up on the board.

28 games he has pitched in, he gave up 0 runs. 16 games he has given up 1 or more.

And what chemistry are you referring too? The type where OF's get whiplash watching HR balls sail over their heads? Or the utter embarassment a team must feel when a cross-eyed guy hits a walk-off against your $5 million + closer that we gave up an AllStar closer for?

koch is just going through the same thing as konerko and maybe the second half he will show us the real koch..i dont think we should give up on him just yet but also since we are in a pennant race every game counts so we must be careful not to pitch him in a tough situation

I noticed one thing, Marte has more blown saves this year or just as many as Billy Koch. Marte has blown six, hasn't Koch blown the same?

I feel for him also, but he can't pitch in many meaningful games or we're doomed.

i think koch came in and had us all thinking he would be the best closer in the game and he struggled and now he feels the pressure and can't pitch as well..i think if we give him some time to find his old self he will start doing better

Marte's blown saves could have come in the 7th 8th and perhaps with inherited runners on or whatever inning so I wouldn't look at that save, Botch's are pretty easily traceable, and he tried hard to f*** the duck again tonight. I can't believe we are still having these threads.

-A blown save could have been like bases loaded no outs in the 7th Sox up by one and Marte comes in and gives up a sac fly. That's a blown save.

 

And has anyone else noticed that f'n Koch like falls off of the mound after he throws. It's a terrible defensive position, like the fricking Wild Thing Mitch Williams.

He did. I was at work, listening on AM 1000, and John Rooney snapped when Hinske swiped that bag off Botch, from the stretch and without a throw from Alomar, which lead to the 6th run for Toronto.

 

Rooney said something like..... That's awful. That base was stolen 100% on Koch. Alomar never had a chance. Koch didn't even try to hold him at first. Now a single becomes a double. Toronto came into the game with 17 steal attempts..... and had been thrown out 17 times. Unbelievable.

 

An RBI base hit followed.
