The inability of this team to turn the double play is shocking.

The fact that we got pantsed the last time we faced the Tigers and the Twins pretty much dictates that we need to start sweeping some of these bad teams. Taking 2 of 3 is going to get us 2nd place. Because there will come a time when we will lose a series with our tough road ahead. The lack of urgency that our team has with the finish line coming up is embarassing. They need to start to put it out there, and start to put together a run we are going to have problems.

 

There is an environment of we always have tomorrow with our players. Well if they keep thinking that, they will have that tomorrow in October when they pick up their golf clubs.

 

 

Definitely feels like a game where our SP is lights out and the bullpen blows it late because the offense can't score more than a f***ing run.

 

Please please please let me be wrong though. We NEED to beat them.

Why is this year's team different? Was it really because of the presence of Griffey? Uribe? Was/is Cabrera more missed than we thought? Vazquez and Swisher weren't ever confused with being leaders....Crede was on the shelf down the stretch.

 

You'd think with Beckham, Nix and Getz, there would be more hunger/desire to win coming from the young players pushing for playing time, compared to a veteran team.

 

This team is perplexing....not to have the ability to come back at all, and not playing well at home for most of the season, whereas the Tigers are 40-20 at home and 24-36 on the road. What happened to Konerko and Dye, BTW?

 

And can Gio Gonzalez ACTUALLY beat Edwin Jackson later tonight?

He has been respectable offensively, and certainly better than I expected but he has been far from awesome. He is a below average for a leadoff man, and a below league average hitter overall. He is certainly better than Wise and Anderson though. Unfortunately he is quite possibly the worst base runner in baseball.

the o's are 49-72? ouch. that detroit series was so fustrating because its not like we got our a** kicked, we could have easily won that series

Well maybe he can turn off the stupid for a while and stop getting picked off. Having a great hitting season will look great for his baseball card, but killing rallies by losing track of those pesky infielders will get him an early offseason.

Well if we had a belief that runners could score without fireworks maybe we could put together a rally. But getting guys picked off, and warning track power is what has been a formula for August crappy baseball.

Minny is not a good team this year. Their pitching is not dominant. Only by willing it by believing in Dome Goblins and boogeymen do we lose like crazy there. If I hear, only in the dome I will vomit. If you play good baseball and hit within your means you can win up there. If you try and park everything, kick the ball around, and sulk before the first pitch because of goblins and boogeymen then you will get pwned.

Does anyone think average third baseman gets to that hit by Reimold ? Gordon seems to have no range.
