August 23, 200916 yr I have heard people comment on how bad his blister looked, does anyone have any new pictures of it? Danks sounds like a gamer for even pitching with the way some people make it sound.
August 23, 200916 yr QUOTE (soxfan420 @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 04:10 AM) Sorry i was just looking for an update myself on the issue. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws
August 23, 200916 yr Here's another short summary Part of the reason for Danks' early struggles may have stemmed from an issue he was having with the index finger of his left pitching hand. He experienced blisters and a circulation problem a month ago, which caused him to miss a start. Saturday marked his sixth straight start in the rotation, but the problem flared up again, as television cameras captured what appeared to be a discoloration on his finger. Danks quickly tried putting those issues to rest after the game. "The finger's all right," Danks insisted. "It's OK. Apparently, they were showing it on TV. It wasn't nearly as bad as it looked. It's obviously still a work in progress, and I'm going to beat it. But everything was fine. I'm not going to use that as an excuse. It's just a matter of me not throwing strikes. I'll just have to get better." And video of him saying it. Edited August 23, 200916 yr by SoxAce
August 23, 200916 yr QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 08:54 AM) "I got blisters, on my fingers" I believe that should be capitalized and with several exclamation points, but the reference is killer.
August 23, 200916 yr Nice to hear Danks is kicking the dip habit. He always looked nasty when he was doing it.
August 23, 200916 yr QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 06:54 AM) "I got blisters, on my fingers" Beatles to those of you who don't know rock.

August 23, 200916 yr QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 09:17 AM) Beatles to those of you who don't know rock. I was thinking of the Family Guy episode where Stewie says it after playing the banjo
August 23, 200916 yr QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 09:17 AM) Beatles to those of you who don't know rock. That is probably the biggest thing Ringo Starr ever gave to the Beatles. How sad is that?
August 24, 200916 yr QUOTE (DaveBrown85 @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 12:13 PM) I was thinking of the Family Guy episode where Stewie says it after playing the banjo The Family Guy comment was a reference to The Beatles.
August 24, 200916 yr QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 02:29 PM) That is probably the biggest thing Ringo Starr ever gave to the Beatles. How sad is that? I did not know it was Ringo who yelled that - thought it was Lennon.

August 24, 200916 yr QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 11:11 PM) I did not know it was Ringo who yelled that - thought it was Lennon. Nope, those two fades at the end of the song truncate 20 or so minutes of outro jamming where Ringo was just beating the hell out of his drums and his hands.
August 24, 200916 yr QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 04:10 AM) "With a Little Help from My Friends" and "Octopus' Garden" were both good songs. Yep, though the first was written by John and Paul and only sung by him. Ditto for Yellow Submarine and Good Night. He gets writing and vocal credits for Don't Pass Me By. He also sang lead vocals on the old Luther Dixon and Wes Farrell song Boys. Ringo was great, even as an undistinguished drummer, and the band wouldn't have been the same without him. August 24, 200916 yr QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 04:02 PM) He had some good solo songs. If by "some" you mean It Don't Come Easy (which was reportedly written by George Harrison), then you're right.
