September 2, 200916 yr Tyler Flowers' rep when we acquired him was good bat but not very good defensively. Well, how about this little note in the Shut Down Peavy article at the Trib site? Flowers was selected as the best defensive catcher in a poll of Southern League managers conducted by Baseball America. Kinda caught me off guard, but it seems he's put in his due diligence defensively and it's paid off for him.

Basically what I thought as soon as I read that. It is difficult for me to be optimistic about anything WS at the moment. 2010 is starting to look good, so I'm starting to think of this as early Spring training.
