September 9, 200916 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 09:20 AM) The digitally remastered catelogue and Rock Band both come out today... Is anyone buying them? I wish I had the scratch for the remastered catalog, but it's only been a few years since I shelled out for the EMI catalog on CD. I'll be getting the Rock Band title some time this week for sure. I also need to figure out how to "accidentally" break our guitar controllers because those Beatle replica controllers are awesome.
September 9, 200916 yr Most of it leaked already and is on youtube. They sound really great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nv72uf9jkcc Edited September 9, 200916 yr by son of a rude
September 9, 200916 yr I got the stereo box set. The only cds I had previously bought were The White Album and Magical Mystery Tour. The rest of what I wanted I had just borrowed and burned from family members. Anyways, these new remastered versions sound great and come in excellent packaging. Now, a few Mr. Show sketches to celebrate the occasion.
September 9, 200916 yr I've already been given the heads up that we'll be discussing this as a whole in my Recording Industry Marketing class. Not even as a Beatles fan, It's kinda cool that they're re-releasing the catalog.
September 9, 200916 yr I am very seriously considering spending alot of money I don't have for the remastered catalog. Edited September 9, 200916 yr by NIUSox
September 10, 200916 yr The limited edition mono remasters are the ones worth buying, IMO - because those are the mixes the band generally preferred. And its a lot of money for not many new dusty gems.
September 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 11:26 PM) The limited edition mono remasters are the ones worth buying, IMO - because those are the mixes the band generally preferred. And its a lot of money for not many new dusty gems. The mono mixes on the first handful of albums are absolutely stellar. I have them on scratchy old vinyl and buying the remastered CDs has been on my to do list since they came out.
September 10, 200916 yr Is Phil Spector gonna get some of those royalties from behind bars I wonder...
September 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 06:30 AM) Is Phil Spector gonna get some of those royalties from behind bars I wonder... Dig a Pony, Get Back, I Me Mine, and I've Got a Feeling are the Let it Be songs in teh game tracks, so depending on the contract structure Spector has, possible yes. Dig a Pony was a rooftop recording, so that was George Martin and not Spector. I Me Mine credits both as producer, and Get Back (album version) and I've Got a Feeling are Spector.
September 11, 200916 yr Bought Beatles Rock Band this evening. Played band style with the kids for a while until they went to bed, and now I'm grooving on the Paul McCartney bass lines. Hands-down this has been the easiest Guitar Hero/Rock Band title to jump right into and 4-Star songs on Hard setting. I don't know how much of that is due to my familiarity with the songs versus the lack of over-the-top stunt guitar work on the Beatles' tunes. Having fun regardless, and the set animation pieces are top notch. Cannot get online access via the wii, and it's the first time I've ever had a problem — maybe there are too many users trying to go online with the new game, i dunno. September 11, 200916 yr Totally just 5-star'd Paul's bass line on LSD on Hard. Going to run through the set before going Expert, but I'm loving playing these bass tracks.
September 11, 200916 yr I'm so behind on these games that I went to Best Buy thinking they had it for PS2 and turns out that no one gets on the PS2 anymore.
