October 13, 200916 yr Not only was Chase Utley 23/23 in stolen bases this year but also he was not picked off once. He and Luis Castillo are the only players with 20+ SB this past year that can claim such a feat, though Castillo was caught stealing 6 times.
October 13, 200916 yr The Utley should've gone to first for the sure out...Rockies need to cash in on that error.
October 13, 200916 yr QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 05:56 PM) Is it just me or are these games slower? Did Rafael Betancourt come in again? If so the answer is yes.
October 13, 200916 yr QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 07:59 PM) The Utley should've gone to first for the sure out...Rockies need to cash in on that error. He had a sure out at 2B, Jimmy Rollins has to catch that ball.
October 13, 200916 yr It's REAL hard to advance in the playoffs when the back end of your bullpen is this bad.
October 13, 200916 yr Huston Street made like Papelbon and failed. Shame, as i had a slight rooting interest in the Rockies.
October 13, 200916 yr QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 06:39 PM) Did Jason Marquis screw someone's wife? He wasn't one of Colorado's top 3 pitchers this year? Marquis wasn't very good to end the year I guess.
October 13, 200916 yr The way these playoffs are going, it seems like "Closer quality" is going to be a key factor. In other words...Mariano.
October 13, 200916 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 10:22 PM) The way these playoffs are going, it seems like "Closer quality" is going to be a key factor. In other words...Mariano. Brad Lidge and Brian Fuentes survived when Papelbon, Franklin, Nathan, and Street didn't. It seems like some of the elite closers are getting canned when the bad ones aren't getting hit. Rivera and Broxton are the only exceptions. Edited October 13, 200916 yr by chw42
