December 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 10, 2009 -> 12:19 AM) http://legacy.signonsandiego.com/sports/pa...17padnotes.html Wow, didn't know this. Don't scare me like that.
December 10, 200916 yr Author Though I guess legal blindness would have to be 20/200 with corrective lenses. But still.
December 10, 200916 yr Pretty interesting Alex. And of course only you would find something like this out. I'm basically like Peavy, though I'm not THAT blind without glasses/contacts.
December 10, 200916 yr I love how when, like in every consummate sports article, they throw in his 'key' statistics there is no mention of his pitching stats, just his batting stats. I understand he was in the NL and needs to bat but the basis of the article was how he couldn't pick up pitches ie how he's pitching, so by extension it would make sense they would highlight his pitching numbers. I know it's a minor thing, I just thought it was funny. Plus, those weren't Mike Hampton circa ATL Braves numbers but they certainly weren't bad in any case.
December 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Dec 10, 2009 -> 01:24 AM) So basically he can't read the big ole E on the eye chart. I'm legally blind without glasses. I couldn't even tell you that there was a chart there without my glasses on.
December 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 10, 2009 -> 12:47 AM) I'm legally blind without glasses. I couldn't even tell you that there was a chart there without my glasses on. Me too. The term legally blind really means nothing anymore, as pretty much all people in this state can be corrected with minimal effort.
December 10, 200916 yr QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Dec 10, 2009 -> 01:21 AM) lol, I thought this was gonna be some kinda ugly wife thread. That is what I expected as well.
December 10, 200916 yr Peavy is legally blind, while opposing hitters normally can't see his nasty pitches. Go Peavy!
December 10, 200916 yr That must be our big splash at the Winter Meetings? Our ace had an eye exam Edited December 10, 200916 yr by elrockinMT
