My Weber Grill...Blue Cheese Burger. Made one this weekend and it might have been the best burger I ever had.

I understand the person starting the topic is from Orland which is probably why no one has mentioned this place to him since its on the northside. But if you want a seriously life changing ill-never-eat-a-burger-at-any-other-place-again type burger. Kumas Corner dishes out the absolute best burgers i have ever had in this city. If your stomach can wait and hour and a half on average for a table, it will be well worth it.. Just dont plan on going on a weekend where lady gaga is in town because this is apparently her favorite burger joint and always visits kumas in the morning on the day of a concert.

 

 

 

Just went there last night for the first time to grab dinner with some friends, got the Megaburger and fries for $5. Good burger but not the best Ive had. Very solid though.

 

Their burgers washed down with a few well-poured pints of Guinness was a hard dinner to beat back in the day.

I really need to finally check out Kuma's, I've lived close to there for years. Is there a time of day that the wait isn't as long? Don't really wanna wait for an hour and a half if I can help it.

Hmm honestly the best time to go when there will be no wait is probably when it first opens at 11:30am.. or when its close to shutting down at 2am.. But i highly suggest if you live close enough, call them and order it to go and it will be ready in 30 minutes. I dont even bother waiting on tables anymore unless im with a kumas corner newbie

Great to hear, I have no problem trying the best beer in the world...just didn't want to spend $12 on it at Kuma's and eating that burger at the same time. I'll have to try it when I am waiting there next time

yeah I've had it many a times. Ish aint worth the price IMO. At least in belgium its like 6 euros which aint bad.

Believe me, it isn't the best in the world though it is good. Go to Binnys and try it for way less than $12.

"Best beer in the world" is wholly subjective, I agree. But I think Tremens, and all of the Malle products I've sampled, are superb.

 

And $12 as a sit-down restaurant price for a bomber-sized bottle of Belgian craft beer I don't think is a bad price. If the same place is charging you $4-5 for a pint of American megaswill, I'll gladly skip that and drink the good stuff. At a beer shop, that same bottle is costing you $7-8, so, I don't think $12 at a bar or restaurant is too out of line.

Possibly, but I have two bars here where I can get Tremens in the large bottle for about that much.

So I called my son, who knew immediately which beer I was talking about, where to buy it locally, the cost, the brewing process, the spicy after taste, and suggested a couple more to try. Not bad for a kid who just turned 21 a few months ago. He really learned quick.

Looking at the Kumas Corner site, they have a fantastic beer selection. Aventinus (a beer I consider one of the best in the world)? Yes please.

The first time I went to Kuma's with my g/f, we sat next to an older couple who had begun talking to us. Turns out, the wife was a gourmet chef and told us that no joke, she waits for at least 2 hours every other saturday to eat their burger. When our burgers finally got to the table almost 3 hours later (don't go on a saturday at dinner time) they would not stop staring at us to see what our reaction was lol. So, ya, it is pretty amazing
