If on the other hand he won the GOP nomination, or wouldn't get many democrats, but he'd have probably gotten a large share of the independents and swing voters.

dude, you're delusional.

Hunstman is around the spot where Reagan was on the scale, in my view.

Sheldon Adelson has pumped another $5 million into Newts superpac for the Florida campaign.

He could do this in every state if he wanted and it really wouldn't hurt his bank account at all.

Romneys official campaign has already spent $5 million in Florida. No idea what his superpac has.

With his wall street connections, Adelson could spend $250 million on newt and romneys superpac wouldn't blink. Thats how much money wall street has.

Where is Madoff when you need him!

So they figure if Romney wins the nomination it will be wall street shill vs wall street shill?

Regardless who is running wall street will donate to both sides. Thats how you make sure it doesnt matter who wins, buy them both!

Or if Gingrich wins too.

Secret Swiss bank account, only paid 14% tax rate... stick a fork in Romney, he's done

Seriously, I don't know why that's scandalous.

Newt Gingrich's tax policy insists that Mitt pays 14 percentage points too much in taxes.

If it doesnt burn him in the primaries, which I think it will, it will scorch him in the general. It's now way to easy to paint him as an elitist tax dodger.

The problem IMO isn't that Mitt Romney or anyone else does whatever they can to reduce their effective tax rate.

It's that fools at the top, starting in about 2002-2003, decided that minimizing the tax rate of people like Mitt Romney would be an effective policy tool. It hasn't been.

And the tax plan of every candidate of that same party doubles down on that same philosophy.

Wonder if Mittens was in the UBS amnesty group.

Why would a low tax rate for the wealthy be a negative in the GOP primaries? Every single one of their tax plans would dramatically slash the tax rates Romney pays. Many of them would slash it to zero.

It is also hard to pin down when 45% of the US has an effective tax rate of near zero.

Continues to be completely untrue, and illustrates a particularly annoying truth here since only the first $112k of Mitt Romney's income is subject to the payroll tax, while for that 45%, their entire income is subject to payroll taxes.

LUCKY DUCKIES!

I thought it was pretty bizarre that the candidates were still strongly behind all the Terry Schaivo dumbness.
