AT this point we need to hope for a bullpen implosion from the Twins. That happens about once every 4 months for them.

The reason the Sox are 4.5 back is because they couldnt beat Minnesota after the All-Star break, can't expect too much help from other teams. To make it a real race again, they are gonna have to sweep 3 in a row against them in September. Thankfully Manny will hit 3-run homers in 3 straight games so I think the Sox will have a good chance (or at least he will stand on deck when other guys hit 3-run homers).
