2010 AL Central Catch-All

Looking at the Twins schedule the rest of the way, they couldn't ask for an easier month of September. Very few games remaining for them against teams above .500 (Sox, Jays, Rangers)

Lots more on the road though.

And down the stretch, under .500 teams full of young guys are always trying to play spoiler.

What's the status of Thome? Will he be missing more than a day or 2?

Twins tv announcers said Sunday that Thome said that he should be good to go on Tuesday

Ugh. Detroit Sucks.

Come on Detroit, don't suck.

Another game that the Twins had absolutely no business winning. All of their runs came with 2 outs.

They have some of the best luck around I tell ya.

All I know is that if we lose the division by one game, one of the things I'll look at is that pop up Jason Kubel hit that hit one of the rings at Tropicana Field. You can't find any more fortune than that right there. That's up there with Castillo dropping A-Rod's game-winning pop-up.

Wild pitches, walks, 2 hit batters, the Tigers absolutely gave that game away.

And they had two chances to score late and couldn't come up with a key hit to tie it (including Cabrera), whereas the Twins managed to get a two out hit.

That's the difference. When you consider the White Sox are 5-10 versus Minnesota and the Tigers have lost 6/7 in Minnesota alone (from listening to their announcers, the Tigers feel even MORE jinxed than the Sox playing up there, and that's really saying something), it's not much of a surprise who's leading the division, Morneau or not.

We might lead the AL in hitting with RISP, but it's WHEN you do it, as Harrelson always says.

At least Scherzer is going today for the Tigers. He's been pretty f***ing nasty since May 30: .214 BAA, 6.77 H/9, 9.47 K/9, 2.20 ERA.

and Verlander tomorrow

Also I really think Joe West is guessing when calling balls and strikes as there were some terrible calls yesterday with Austin Jackson's AB in 8th topping them all.

Kudos to MLBN for the varying games they put on.

Kubel and Fuentes banged up and most likely not available tonight. Hopefully that means a Tigers win.

Kubel & Hudson out of the lineup today, and now Thome is a late scratch as well. Morales will DH instead, probably will smoke a homer or two.

Twins lineup is weak as hell tonight so let's see how this shakes out. Boring through one.

I've seen this one before. Twins' opponent blows all kind of scoring chances and then the Twins steal a victory late.

This is the same ol s*** I've seen over and over, Twins opponents squandering scoring opportunities and the Twins win a game 1-0.

I HATE THIS GOD DAMN TEAM.

Miguel Cabrera looks more like Melky Cabrera in this series. Can hardly hit the ball out of the infield. The Twins are getting amazing starting pitching of late.

Man I saw that coming from a mile away

We gained that 1/2 a game on Monday and we'll lose it right back on Thursday... f***ing hell...nothing to show for that sweep of Cleveland...

Joe Mauer does a phenomenal job of calling pitches. Always seems to call for offspeed pitches with 3-2 counts, etc.

It's beyond frustrating. I feel like the Twins haven't lost a game in a month....ugh.

This must be what it felt like for the Twins when they were in second and we were ripping off 25 of 30....

But do the Sox have the same fortitude as they do?

Will they wear down in different facets of the game like the Sox did?

Hopefully they'll go back to back games deep into extra innings and decimate their bullpen.

The Twins record under Gardenhire after the ASB has been insane. Tigers station just showed a graphic of it....and it was depressing.

And of course they're probably going to win on 1 run and 3 hits. WTF
