ST: White Sox v. Royals, Peavy v. Meche

Featured Replies

Sox down 5-1 in the second.

Edited by scenario

I'd rather see Peavy get torched today than 16 days from now. Get it out of your system.

Swagger jacker. :chimp

Yeah im following on mlb gameday as well. Peavy threw 27 straight fastballs to start the game before just throwing his first breaking ball to Betemit. Looks like hes just trying to his work regiment in.

Peavy getting hit hard

Well, aren't you a sweatheart Scenerio.

Anyways. Peavy got shelled, but oh well, I am sure he was just working on a few pitches or locations.

Beckham doubles, what else is new?

5-2 Royals.

If Beckham plays 155 games, I expect 70 extra base hits.

Very possible. 20 HR, 45 Doubles, 5 triples. I'd buy that.

He's doing what veteran pitchers do during Spring games; he's working on his fastball. Just trying to put it where he wants to and not really worrying about getting hitters out. Greg Maddux was famous for this; he'd throw nothing but fastballs in some spring outings just trying to find his release point and develop muscle memory. He's basically throwing batting practice.

Yeah look at gameday..Peavy is throwing like 96% fastballs.

Gameday in previous years hasn't been all that accurate with ST pitch selections

Maybe Jake is throwing all fastballs. Josh Fields is 0/2 with a strikeout.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they are counting most of his cutters, 2-seamers, and 4-seamers all as just a fastball.

I wouldn't count on that to be accurate, they don't put much effort into spring games. This is just about the time where the starters start stretching out their arms a bit more and work on 1 pitch for several innings and his last outing seemed pretty offspeed pitch heavy.

c'mon bobby boy, get on track

Jenks on the bump. I wonder if he is healthy yet. Results to follow....

Jenks is in. I'd like to see outs recorded, not just working on location.

Jason Kendall.......HE GONE.

DeJesus.......flies out to Andruw.

1-2-3 inning for Jenks.

1-2-3 for Jenks. That's good.

1-2-3 for Bobby. All fastballs. 92-93 on all velocities.

I haven't been following much game action this spring but is there any reason to be concerned by Quentin's very low average?

does santos look like a future closer, starter or set up guy?

From what I saw in the 5-6 spring games I have seen, he seems to be swinging for the fences very hard. Not sure if he is just working on his bat flip or what, but yeah, he has been swinging out of his arm sockets.
