Blue Jays @ Sox, 5/6 Game THREAD

Well, I know I am a bit more of a glass half full guy, but I like the composition of this offense. The problem isn't in the way the offense was built, but rather that it's two best hitters have been extremely underwhelming. I'm really not that surprised by Jones and Rios. Konerko's performance has been a bit surprising. But if Beckham and Q do 80% of what they are capable of, this offense will be fine.

And then a walk...

Haha. We're just a bad team.

hawk's talking up the "towering drive" that kotsay hit to the warning track. LOL

Another patented Ramirez "vapor/brain lock."

He sometimes makes Pods looks good out there with his decision-making processes and logic.

Should have been 1st and 2nd, one out. Maybe it doesn't even matter with TMK batting...haha.

everland throwing everything up now.. let him continue struggle now.

Lost in Translation.... oh wait.

There's a saying in Cuba that translated means... "Are you stupid or are you from Pinar del Rio?"

Alexei is from Pinar del Rio.

Patented pull hook down to right side of the infield.

But at least Kotsay doesn't strike out. Oops, that's bad too, because he would be better striking out instead of grounding into DP's so often.

2 hits in 4 innings. Doesn't look like a struggle to me.

But neither Beckham or Quentin had any type of track record of consistent success coming into this season. Remember how many times we heard "If X players performs well, this offense will be fine"? Like many said back then, there were too many ifs and an extremely mediocre offense wasn't out of the question.

Venezuelan Spanish but be different than Cuban Spanish.

How many games this season has the opposition had more hits than the Sox?

Well, while they might not have had the track records, they did have the pedigrees. You're right though...but the problem is, unless you're the Yankees or Red Sox or Cubs, you've got to count on guys like that performing well because there simply is not enough money to go around to acquire guys with track records at every position.

i meant struggling with command, not w sox captalizing on it

thank god buck is slower than kong

Bottom of their order doing damage. Our starters just have no breathing room.

gotta get lewis out here

yuck

Ah well. thats too bad.

ya...

And we're in a lot of trouble. Threw a meatball to Lewis...why couldn't we have got him instead of Pierre? Danks velocity hasn't topped 90 on Comcast, I hope it's a slow gun.

It's 2-0 folks...jeesh.
