2010-2011 NHL thread

Can anyone tell me why the lower seeds in hockey seem to win a lot more than they do in basketball? It seems almost every year or so an 8 seed either beats the 1 seed or at least comes damn close while it is very rare in basketball(although the grizzlies have looked good so far). Is it just the nature of hockey or parity in the league or something else?

In basketball your best players are on the court almost all game. In hockey, they aren't. Also, lucky bounces are common in hockey.

what a game so far hopefully the hawks can come out early in the 3rd grab a lead and have momentum on their side down the stretch

Hawks haven't been good as closing out games this year, and no way we can expect those generous penalties this period. Gotta have our big boys step up.

4 on 4 to start the 3rd after the nonsense at the end of the 2nd.

and the Hawks are losing. Seriously, can someone take a shot? The Hawks love to pass until the perfect shot opens up and they get nothing.

Bolland with a nice solid hockey annihilation of a player there.

I think Schneider is hurt.

He was favoring the leg earlier in the game.

Seabrook looks lost out there almost John Scott bad on that last shift

Coincedence that seabrook comes back and the team looks like it did in games 1-3?

Look how accurate the Canucks passes are compared to the hawks

Hawks suddenly can't get anything going offensively. Only 1 shot on Luongo.

Hawks have been dominated the last 10 minutes of this game.

c'mon hawks this series has to go to a game 7 to get this far and drop gm 6 this late into the game will be tough to swallow

Vancouver has really rallied around the mental midget. The Hawks have to find a way to break through.

hawks looking a little drained here to finish the 3rd period

3 guys laying down and campbell does not shot come on

Mind blowing. For whatever reason, this team seems to turtle and look to pass first.
