My guess: AJ's a little sore after being hit twice vs the Cubs and Ozzie's giving him an extra day to recoup.

My guess is that it's just Ozzie throwing stuff against the wall again.

Maybe AJ has some slight injury he is resting??? Because of the 10-5 rights and since no other catcher is in Pittsburgh either, I'm sure its not a trade. Ozzie at it again.

Tabata, LF

Walker, N, 2B

McCutchen, A, CF

Jones, G, 1B

Doumit, C

Even MORE odd: just looked up the numbers and Castro is 3 for 7 with a HR lifetime vs Duke (AJ's 1 for 3). Also: this year at Indy lefties hit .274 off Lincoln and righties hit .156.

My guess: AJ's a little sore after being hit in back to back games and Ozzie's giving him an extra day to recoup.

Maybe he's sore from actually throwing two runners out in the same game.

Juan grounds out, Omar strikes out, Rios HBP, Konerko AB.

Paulie flies out to end the inning.

god what a beautiful ballpark....

i've been to fenway, comerica, yankee (old), great american, miller, progressive, the new Busch, PNC and the Cell....and the difference between the worst of them and #2 is about the same as the difference between PNC and #2

Brad Lincoln might be the 5th best hitter in either lineup. He looked pretty good in the first inning.

Why do other teams bunt so well against the Sox, but we can't bunt to save our life?

Walker bunts his way to first base.

McCutchen walks.

Garcia's velocity is a few mph down from where he's been lately. Can't let Pirates get off to an early lead with this TERRIBLE Sox lineup tonight.

HA kotsay deeked himself out of that play

Freddy has nothing tonight. This is gonna be a start where he gives up 9 ER.

Wow, Kotsay played that ball terribly. Down 2-0, as Garcia has nothing on any of his pitches. Team came out flatter than an anorexic girl tonight.

That was smoked. Off the wall, Kotsay doing his best Bobby Abreu impression and 2-0 Pirates.

Oh yeah, that's right the Pirates suck. Big game Freddy has had trouble getting up for the bad clubs.

Hopefully he settles and we have to start hitting the ball, 2 runs in last 18 innings.

So much for being a great defensive replacement

Anyone else think this is a weird camera angle?

He isn't a right fielder at this point in his career.

I wouldn't be surprised if Brad Lincoln shuts us down.

This just has the feel of one of those terrible starts for Freddy, and one where I wish we had Carlos Torres or Dan Hudson up here to eat up innings. I hate watching Tony Pena pitch four innings.
