June 20, 201015 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) Danks seems to be getting it going lately. Double today. 10 k's in his last 35 at bats. That's actually a slight improvement for him. Some of him heating up was due anyway, simple BABIP regression.
June 20, 201015 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 07:21 PM) 10 k's in his last 35 at bats. That's actually a slight improvement for him. Some of him heating up was due anyway, simple BABIP regression. His BABIP is .340. How high do you expect it to get?
June 20, 201015 yr QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) His BABIP is .340. How high do you expect it to get? Really? It was that high? Ok, my mistake, I assumed too much from when he was hitting .220.
June 20, 201015 yr It takes alot of players a while to adjust to all the junk pitches they see in AAA. It's the level where they'll see the best offspeed stuff they've ever faced in their careers. Guys who are good fastball hitters won't see many of them until they demonstrate good batting eye and plate discipline to lay off offspeed pitches just outside the strikezone. The key is to watch their adjustment. Looks like Danks may be starting to adjust.

June 20, 201015 yr QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 01:52 PM) Players don't usually see a dramatic improvement in their plate discipline, especially not when they start to hit 22/23/24. I'm not expecting a major adjustment. But it is reasonable to see early struggles and then improvement in the first few months of AAA.
June 20, 201015 yr QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) I'm not expecting a major adjustment. But it is reasonable to see early struggles and then improvement in the first few months of AAA. For D2, the adjustment we need to see is about a 20-25% decrease in the K rate. He doesn't have to halve them. The difference between the 175 K/year and 130 K/year pace is huge.
June 20, 201015 yr Morel went 1-3 with a 2B, and a BB. Hit safely in 7 out of his last 9 games, and hitting .333 over that streak.
June 21, 201015 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) Threets with a scoreless 9th. Hudson gets his 9th win. I would still rather give Threets a shot at the major league roster rather than Williams.
June 21, 201015 yr Gilmore's hitting streak ends (I believe it was 16 or 17?) Short with a nice night.
June 21, 201015 yr Hudson BB count and pitch count up the last two starts. Maybe he is facing the league´s tougher hitting lineups. Still leading the league in WINS. GO SOX!!!
