Quentin's OPS is now .776.

If Q had hit all season like he's been hitting lately, would we be in 1st place right now?

The only time you remove a starter this early is by injury. Or by meltdown in the Cubs' case.

A manager would need to wear a clown suit. He'd lose the entire team.

ugh

Hopefully Kenny is starting to make some calls to fix this DH debacle.

Gorzellany is a professional pitcher unlike that hothead who started.

lol Brenly called the Cubs a"dead ass team".

Somebody's not afraid.

The only thing Zambrano can do is be waiting for the team entering the clubhouse and apologize emotionally.

Otherwise he has to be fined a significant amount.

They certainly seem lively in the dugout.

AJ making him work and get that pitch count up. Keep 'er going.

i don't follow the Cubs closely. What kind of pitch count can Gorzelanny give them?

You (or whoever brought it up initially) advocated putting Viciedo into the lineup at the start of the bottom of the second. Either way, pinch hitting in the 4th is still dumb.

I suggested putting Viciedo in for Kotsay at DH. So, having him hit the next time Kotsay is scheduled, which turned out to be the 4th. I knew that wouldn't happen. Ozzie is not going to make that move. I see that you've called it dumb, and other people suggest that "you don't do that." But I don't see any reasoning behind the comments.

Gorz would look good in our bullpen.

Hendry did a hell of a job of getting Gorzelanny as a throw-in in the Grabow deal last year.

He started few games early in the season, Im sure he can go the distance.

It's a 4 run game, for one. You don't pull your starters with a four run lead this early.

Secondly, as greg mentioned, it shows up your players.

He'd look great as a long man or a situational lefty.

Less than usual today since they also used him yesterday. I'm glad he won't go too deep.

Is he conditioned to go 8 today? I figured maybe 50 pitches but I just don't know.

Because you just don't do it in baseball.

You lose the entire team as a manager. You become a clown.

If a player starts a game and prepares to start the game mentally, you don't yank him because the other team now has a lefty starter.

The fourth inning is too early to make substitutions like that.

It's like Kotsay and the team would say, "WTF, what did I do??"

I didn't know they used him yesterday too.

He might have an inning or two left in him?

He last threw 110 pitches on May 26. Since then he's appeared in 5 ballgames, throwing 14, 19, 19, 10, and 6 pitches. The 6 pitches was on June 24.
