At least with Alexei batting 7th Ozzie won't have him bunting the AB after he hit a HR.

7th inning, Pierre is on 2nd, no outs, tie game. How can you seriously complain about that?

That's only true because the guy batting in front of him won't be on base.

Ozzie was going to bunt Pierre to second.

Unless the plan all along was to just have him show bunt and have Pierre taking off first pitch (which is what happened). I doubt they had a bunt and run on.

You've got to move the runner to third there.

I love how we complain in games that we've won.

And as far as the lineup selection, what are the Sox, 10-0 in their last 10 home games. I like all 10 of those lineups.

This board is going to be insane after every loss the rest of the season I predict. The tone of the board is utterly negative this year IMO. You may disagree, but I think the tone is soooooo negative this season on here.

Maybe it's the economy putting many in a bad mood most of the time and needing to vent on here.

It's not like we haven't seen it before with Ozzie bunting Pierre to second.

Just because something works doesn't mean it was the right move.

You are never allowed to first guess a move.

I've lurked this site for the past 4 years and its always been negative.

It's not that at all...it's just pointless to be making snark little complaints about s*** Ozzie does or "might do" all the time when it worked out. The bunt last night was the right move. If Lexi really was supposed to lay one down to move him to 2nd it would not have been. But Pierre stole on the first pitch, how many times do managers ever bunt and run? I just feel it serves no purpose getting worked up over a move that worked that essentially won us the game. But to each their own.

In the past 2 or 3 it's taken a major turn.

I'm curious if you visit the boards for other teams whether everyone just pats each other on the back.

Ozzie managed the game to get that one run across. I'm glad he trusts his bullpen enough where he believes that's all he needs, but I would have let your hottest hitter swing away is all. I was certainly less upset about Alexei bunting Pierre over to third than I would have been at bunting him to second.

Oh, the everyone else does it so there's nothing wrong with us doing it excuse. Got it. Feel free to do it, but i'll feel just as free to point out how ridiculous and annoying it is.

Were you here in 2006-2007?

Yes, yes it would have. Nobody out, tied in the 7th...Juan is getting waved around (and scoring) on a base hit by Rios right there unless it's a tweener or an absolute bullet to Ichiro. NL strategy or not, like it or not, it was the right move to bunt him over (to 2nd or 3rd) in that situation. End of story.

Not a great start.

I love the bunt.

Horrible execution by Figgy.

I love the bunt.

Indeed.

Damnit, Freddy.

Not a good start.

Two hard hit doubles so far.

I don't understand why more teams don't try to take an extra base against Juan.

Casey f***ing Kotchman? Really?

f***, both of those balls to Guti looked like strikes to me.
