Bringing Back Sox Supporters Section at Comiskey

Featured Replies

I'd be all for this. Though next year when I'm off to college I figure I'll end up making it to more games in KC than Chicago.

However, when possible I'd go all the time. I love things like this.

This is awesome. Students Sections are what make college and high school sports fun and if this can bring even a little of that to the cell it would be great.

That's exactly what we are going for: I am glad to hear people are digging the idea! I have had a few emails wanting to get more information, so let me know if you would like to be included and have access. Also, keep the input coming! This section needs to come from everyone who is involved, and these are all great ideas!

If I'm not mistaken, the "Sox Supporters" used to take their show on the road, too. Didn't they use to go to games in Milwaukee back in the day when the Brew Crew was in the American League?

Yeah. I seem to recall that as well. I swear I remember the Sox Supporter drummer guy at some games in Milwaukee.

I'd be so into this if I were still in the area but I'm in Washington. However, when the Sox play in Seattle.......

They did go on a ton of the road games for sure. If we can get enough of a following here, I would love to get that cooking later down the line.

So, not only do we have an approved section for the game, but we also have an approved special ticket price! The Sox have agreed to both for that day's game, and now it will boil down to people interested in heading out and getting this thing going. I have already had a few people message me and send emails, so let me know if you are interested in heading out to the game, and any other ideas you have to make this thing great. Either shoot me an email at nighttrainveeck@gmail.com, or post a reply, and we can start getting it set up.

If anyone has any other ideas, bring em on!

Go Sox!

This is a great idea. Congrats.

I am, but sadly, I am busy that night with Homecoming.

I'll easily do this in the future though.

While I like the passion and the fire I dont like this idea for white sox games. White Sox games to me and white sox fans are all about whats going on on the field. To me anything that takes away from the play on the field is meant for other sports or other venues. I think part of being a sox fan and going to a sox game is about being entrenched in an environment which is all about the game, teams performance, players, managers, etc. Dont take the purity out of the game and fan experience, leave the shenanigans to the soccer people who care more about marking a parade out of the bleachers.

Hate to break it to you, but the most excitement I saw at the park this season in the 12 games I went to was the wave taking place in the crowd.

Did you miss the month of June?

I was there for 3 of those games, and swear the loudest the crowd got was during the wave.

I definitely agree that the action on the field is extremely important! I think that's why once we have this first game down, we will be able to fine tune the section to work WITH the flow of the game, and ENHANCE the atmosphere instead of take away from it. He does have a point with the wave, but rest easy, this will be a sandbar to that. I think we can do a lot better than the wave :)

Quinarvy, I'm glad to hear you are interested! Definitely let me know if you would like to join.

Sox Fans! I have received a link from the White Sox for tickets to this revival of the Sox Supporters! They even came out to be a little lower than I anticipated. I have had a few people email me, and will be shooting them the link now, but if you are interested, let me know either by the forums, or by email, and I can send it over to you. I am looking forward to speaking with everyone, and getting together a group of fans to keep this going into next year!

In addition, people are gathering at Rocky's on the southside before the game to get together, have a few brews, talk some baseball, and head to the park. Let me know if anyone has any questions, and I look forward to seeing you all Friday!

With the blessing of the Forum Gods (Jim "Tex"), I wanted to give everyone access to the link for the Sox Supporters game on Friday. If you click on this, and use "support" as the code, you will be able to purchase tickets to head out to the game for the special rate (50% off).

Bring out signs (bonus and tv points to hilarity), banners, and flags to get this thing cooking. Let me know if anyone has any questions, or more ideas to contribute. As I mentioned, people will be gathering at Rocky's before the games, and getting to the stadium a little early to get things in place. Let's have some fun with this thing! I look forward to meeting people at the game!
