December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) Yeah major brain fart on Santos. I intentionally excluded Sale. Ya, I figured both. It certainly appears that KW is going for it all this season and if he is, that's most likely going to include Chris in the pen.
December 3, 201015 yr Jon Morosi jonmorosi Jon Morosi #Braves receive cash in the Linebrink trade. Not sure how much yet. 1 minute ago
December 3, 201015 yr In terms of heavy lifting Kenny's already past the train pull and now he's finishing with the atlas stone.
December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) Santos is in there somewhere. Thornton Santos Carter Sale
December 3, 201015 yr The Dodgers actually like Link a bit and he pitched a little bit for the big league team at the end of the season. Plus Link (along with Ely) helped us get Pierre. Link worked out since we got him in a deadline deal for Mr. Mack IIRC.
December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 12:36 PM) Ya, I figured both. It certainly appears that KW is going for it all this season and if he is, that's most likely going to include Chris in the pen. I think that's completely dependent on Peavy's health and if a starter is traded or not.
December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 01:36 PM) Jon Morosi jonmorosi Jon Morosi #Braves receive cash in the Linebrink trade. Not sure how much yet. 1 minute ago Ya, no shock there.

December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 12:37 PM) Thornton Santos Carter Sale Carter needs more seasoning as a reliever in AAA.
December 3, 201015 yr What kind of impact does this have on 2011 payroll? Or is it too early to answer?
December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 01:39 PM) What kind of impact does this have on 2011 payroll? Or is it too early to answer? We've saved somewhere between $0 and $5.5 million.
December 3, 201015 yr *Kenny's phone ringing* Kenny: Ken Williams here...uh huh.... WHAT? *puts phone down, looks around the room all crazy* Kenny: Yeah, wait... like, you said Linebrink, right?...Yahuh....k, hang on a second... *presses the hold button* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA *picks the phone back up* Kenny: You there? Sure, we can do that...
December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) I am officially on the bring back D.J. bandwagon. Who will join me? I'm in.
December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 01:45 PM) Let's do this same thing with Teahen. Teahen is overpaid for his job...but being able to be a backup IF and backup OF in a pinch is really useful for that 4th guy off the bench. It makes no sense to dump Teahen if we have to send salary along with him.
December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 12:43 PM) I am officially on the bring back D.J. bandwagon. Who will join me? I would normally jump on, but I'm going to wait and see if Kenny can trade Teahen straight-up for Bell and sign Putz for about $600K before I look at DJ.

December 3, 201015 yr By the way...everyone is writing down that they're not allowed to complain when Linebrink has a legitimate solid season in the NL, right?
December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) I would normally jump on, but I'm going to wait and see if Kenny can trade Teahen straight-up for Bell and sign Putz for about $600K before I look at DJ. I assume you mean Viciedo. Teahen for Bell has about as real a chance as me making my major league debut this year.
December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 10:46 AM) Teahen is overpaid for his job...but being able to be a backup IF and backup OF in a pinch is really useful for that 4th guy off the bench. It makes no sense to dump Teahen if we have to send salary along with him. In the current situation, Teahen could be pretty valuable. Its nice having a guy like him who you can go to in a pinch at multiple positions. I wish he didn't make quite as much as he did, but there is some value in that flexibility. Plus if Morel struggles at third you at least have another option instead of just using Omar Vizquel full time (or Viciedo), not that I want Teahen to be a regular at 3B.
December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 01:47 PM) By the way...everyone is writing down that they're not allowed to complain when Linebrink has a legitimate solid season in the NL, right? We call this the Javy-Policy.
December 3, 201015 yr I wondered where Kenny was all last offseason, turns out he was busy collecting incriminating photographs of his peers. Ninja Kenny is BACK! And boy am I glad to see it!
December 3, 201015 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 10:47 AM) By the way...everyone is writing down that they're not allowed to complain when Linebrink has a legitimate solid season in the NL, right? I think he will be solid. I don't think he's worth what the Sox were paying him and he didn't really fit our roll since we need more regularly consistent set-up guys. Since as of now we essentially have Santos and Thorty (thorty is a rock if healthy, but Santos is still very raw). I might be missing someone, but Sale is our 5th starter currently.
