Report: Sox give 2 pitchers minor league deals

January 9, 2011 1:18 PM | 1 Comment

ESPN.com reports: The White Sox have agreed on minor league contracts with right-handers Josh Kinney and Shane Lindsay, according to a major league source.

Kinney spent 2010 with the Cardinals' Triple-A club in Memphis, posting a 1.80 ERA in 60 innings. Lindsay, a native of Australia, reached Triple-A last season with the Rockies and has never pitched in the majors.

How does a guy with a 1.80 era in 60 innings in AAA play so poorly in the majors?

Damn. He's 31.

Lindsay's the same age as me and obviously we're both Australian.

I'll be rooting for him.

Because the difference between AAA and MLB is very big.

It was mostly a rhetorical question.

Both good low risk signings. Lindsay looked like he was really good until he caught the injury bug.

i think this kinney guy could take penas job, his numbers all throughout the minors are solid, he had a real bad year in 09 but he was comin back from tommy john.

Ok Mate :aussie:

Kinney looks like a good low risk acquisition. Bullpen is all about grabbing onto some good luck at low prices.

Please use an apostrophe.

Lindsay looks interesting to me.

I wonder if he'll start in B'ham or Charlotte?

Hopefully B'Ham. I'll be following him regardless.
