Seriously? Or are you just going by Gameday, which is not correct?

Peavy: 26 Pitches, 16 strikes, 2K, 1BB, "between 89 and 92 mph"-Jeff passan and "very sharp with his pitches"-Dave Van Dyck

Wow. That is awesome.

Lillifail with bases drunk

Wow...that was brutal. Based juiced with no outs and we get a strike out, a pop out and a fly out. I believe that is 2 innings in a row leaving the bases loaded.

2 innings each for the starting 5. 0 hits.

ptatc just waiting to hit "send"...

Yep.

Just got home and watched him pitch. He still stands to high during the follow through and puts stress on his arm for deceleration. If he would bend more at the waist and get his chest parallel to the ground he would be better off. However, he did not drop too low during any pitch.

All that being said, it was a very encouraging outing. We'll just need to see how he is feeling tomorrow.

Some fan stuff from today's game:

I'm not a fan of anyone taking their shirt off at a game, but seriously, some people have no shame--when they should.

And to the fans sitting over the dugout that almost got smoked...don't take a baby to a baseball game. They're not going to remember it.

And if you do take a baby to a baseball game.. don't sit where it could get hit in the head with a linedrive!

They had a nice side view of Jake's mechanics on MLB Tonight about 45 minutes after the game tonight. It was very brief, and only one pitch, but you could see him consciously following through, bringing his back leg forward after a very brief hesitation.

They aren't taking the baby to the game so the baby can remember it, I would bet they brought the baby because they want to see a game and happen to have a child, but don't have a babysitter.

Are you going to babysit for free for everyone who would like to go to a game, but doesn't have a babysitter? I'm sure you will be pretty busy if you do.

It's like taking your baby to basically anything. You really aren't going for the child, you are going so you can experience things with the child and you will have the memories...They won't remember a thing.

The best advice to them is what Chrislikesbaseball said...Don't sit where you are going to get hit.

I'm leaving for Glendale in a few hours. I'm getting pretty excited to see this years Sox in person. I have a good feeling about this year, it might be irrational fanboyism, but whatever.

Fair enough, Savvy. But there is no way a baby should be held in a somebody's lap sitting right over the dugout. That's asking for a tragedy. It actually shouldn't be allowed.

The plan is for him to throw primarily fastballs, or so I heard.

He looked good!
