Garland gave up one freaking hit in that inning and he was about to go up against Tucker, who if you ask me is one of the weakest hitters in the lineup. He wasn't going to get the ball. It's better to do that than what Carlos would do. He would run up dive for it and let it get by him and cost a base.

August 5, 200322 yr But he didnt know how bad that inning was going to be at the time. You always gotta hustle. A few years ago, I was playing in a rec league. Our team got down 6-0 in the first. Now thats bad but we had an offense capable of overcoming. I was in CF, there were 2 outs and the bases were loaded. The hitter slugged one to rightcenter (there were no fences either so when this ball lands its gonna role for like a mile). I sprinted after it, dove and caught it about 100 feet from where I started. That ended the inning and we came back to win 10-9. Ya always gotta hustle...

There is no point to it. As I said about Carlos going for it and costing him. Everett is a smart player and he hustles. Don't question that about him.
August 5, 200322 yr I honestly like Everett. I loved it when we traded for him. I just watched him yesterday and thought he should have hustled more. But you also make a point in that he wouldnt have caught it and it woulda just costed him. It can go either way really...
