I was reading the Sun-Times and it Says that Paniagua and the Sox are close to a deal and he would likely report to AAA Charlotte. I like it, he has some nasty stuff and he was a good reliever until he went to the Tigers and they spoiled him. Thoughts?

Sounds like a good deal to me. One of those Esteban Loazia type deals. The kind of deal that won't hurt if it doesn't work out, but will reap rewards if it does. You can't lose.

He had an ERA of 5.83 last season in Detroit.

I'm all for it if we can get him. Gotta give Kenny props though. Even though he makes dumb ass moves at times. It's not from not wanting to win...He wants a world title bad. I like it

Yeah, he's made a bunch of these signings. I think that credit goes to our scouts though.

He sucked in Detroit last year, got waived by Tampa in spring training. It would be a miracle if he added anything to this team. Even his one decent season 2000 he had 52 walks in 77 innings. Since he throws in the low 90's, his performance may be Kochesque.

Id agree with that. As long as we dont go trade away Cotts or something, go ahead. He wont hurt us. The worst he can do it to not help us any...

Does anyone know which Jose Paniagua is the one we might sign in this link. I'm guessing it's not the one with the 9.45 ERA, but I'm not sure.
