September 30, 201114 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 04:41 PM) Greg will poll 100 Jayhawks fans and they will claim never to have heard of Dunn or Rios but will be conspicuously wearing their brand-new Miami Marlins glow-in-the-dark gear. After Bill Self and Roy Williams, #3 on their "I'd most like to have a beer with..." list would be Ozzie Guillen, followed by the Reverend Fred Phelps, anyone from the cast of "The Big Bang Theory" and Minka Kelly.
September 30, 201114 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 12:40 PM) I dont think I've put more than one user on ignore in several years, and in the last 2 days I've had to put Marty and Victory both on it. Just awful. Santos is going to be worth so much to this team over the next few years and then will be a HUGE value in the trade market IMO. Less than a million bucks for a pen arm like that is awesome. I didn't know there was an ignore feature but I found it based on Marty's comments in this thread. I would like to know what he thinks he gets back for those two pieces today that would be better than keeping them around.

October 3, 201114 yr Even better than the quote is the slow burn that Joe Cowley has to be doing knowing that Kenny will talk to Peter Gammons, but not him.

It is the right decision in my opinion.

I assume the kids will be Dayan, Flowers, Sale, Stewart, Reed, Escobar, and a pen arm or two.
October 3, 201114 yr Tyler Flowers Alejandro De Aza Dayan Viciedo Chris Sale Sergio Santos Brent Lillibridge Addison Reed Zach Stewart Dylan Axelrod Brent Morel Gordon Beckham Philip Humber Hector Santiago If nothing else, it's a good list of pre-arb guys from this team.
October 3, 201114 yr keithlaw keithlaw I'm not sure who the White Sox might play now but didn't this year beyond Viciedo and Addison Reed.

October 3, 201114 yr I wonder how they handle Flowers. Platoon with AJ? Start him? Rotate him at C, first and maybe even DH?

The season doesn't start for 7 months....The "kids" are prospects he gets back for Danks, Floyd...etc.

I don't want him limiting himself. The system needs talent period, at all levels.

At this point, I think that Kenny and JR are more interested in dumping salary than nabbing a solid prospect.
