Agent: Quentin fully recovered from shoulder injury

By Mark Gonzales Tribune reporter

2:03 p.m. CST, November 15, 2011

MILWAUKEE -- One issue that won't concern the Chicago White Sox or any interested teams is the health status of right fielder Carlos Quentin.

Quentin suffered a sprain of the AC joint in his left shoulder while making a diving catch against Texas on Aug. 20. The injury limited Quentin, 29, to two at-bats on Sept. 12.

But Brodie Van Wagenen, Quentin's agent, said his client is fully recovered.

"He’s back," Van Wagenen said Tuesday shortly after arriving at the general managers' meetings. "He’s working out with no restrictions."

Quentin is arbitration eligible and can become a free agent after the 2012 season. The Sox have Dayan Viciedo ready to take over in right field if they trade Quentin, who is attractive for teams seeing a right-handed power-hitting outfielder.

Quentin has averaged 25 home runs and 82 RBIs over the past two seasons. Quentin had 24 home runs and 77 RBIs in 118 games before injuring his shoulder.

Trade this man.

Good time to deal TCQ.

Keep Quentin and trade someone else

And there's a chance we won't even get draft pick compensation when he departs in a year.

The way they have twisted the Elias rankings so that we won't get something for Mark B really baffles me. I am betting CQ and others on this team will all be rated the same

I am appalled by all of you calling for a trade :lolhitting

And I'm appalled by....

Nevermind. I'll get in trouble.

Not going to get much for him since he's coming off an injury, not too mention a year before free agency. I'd suspect they could get him at a discount if they made him a multi-year offer.

And considering you'd probably get 600 PA's out of him over those multi-years (total, not per year), the deal would be great for Carlos.
