I can't imagine it will matter with this group, but worth noting.

Helpful info: Sox players out of minor league options

Via MLB Trade Rumors, the White Sox have three players with less than five years of service time who cannot be sent to the minor leagues without passing through waivers first. The list:

Alejandro De Aza: Unless De Aza puts up absolutely abysmal offensive numbers, his place on the White Sox roster is pretty secure. His plus defense and base-stealing ability would make him a good fourth outfielder option even if he's replaced by Kosuke Fukudome or Brent Lillibridge (more likely Lillibridge -- Fukudome and Alex Rios don't have much experience in left).

Brent Lillibridge: His extreme versatility, defensive ability and speed make him a good bench fit even if his bat deserts him. That there's no better minor-league option at this time plays in his favor.

Philip Humber: If all these players struggle, Humber would theoretically be the most likely one to be sent through waivers en route to another team or Charlotte just because the Sox have a few potentially viable replacements for him. If Humber struggles early, Nestor Molina, Zach Stewart or Dylan Axelrod could find themselves in the Sox rotation.

Of note: The Orioles have a hilarious amount of players (10) who are out of minor-league options, while a few old friends popped up on the list in Boone Logan (Yankees), Lucas Harrell (Astros) and Brandon Allen (Athletics).

Hey, Boone Logan, there's another 1.5 WAR I forgot in my compilation of players we traded away yesterday.

The three Sox players mentioned are all on the team and should be starting so the story doersn't rteally mean anything

The title of the thread is incredibly misleading.

Yeah it is, something like "Sox players that have no remaining options left" is more accurate to the article.

I thought Ventura made it somewhat clear that he was leaning towards De Aza in CF and Rios in LF. This should be the outcome. JJ Stankevicz makes it sound like De Aza would be the LF being replaces by Lillibridge. This is not Ozzie managing the team anymore and I thought that an actual beat writer would know that De Aza is most likely the opening day CF.

Yeah, I was disappointed to not see some sort of scathing piece.

I f***ing nailed it.

Yeah, I thought it was going to be an article about how the team you see now is the team you'll see on the field and we, as fans, should be scared and angry.
