He is but he can get into the lane and make defenses collapse. He'd be a nice back up to Abrams.

He'd be a senior, right?

Yes, he has one year of eligibility left.

Apparently Starks committed to Illinois, but we still have no idea if he's going to be eligible next year. It wouldn't make much sense if he's not.

I think it's still a contingent commit.

Also, this throws an obstacle into the potential Darius Paul visit today as there is no free scholarship for 2013 for Paul then. He would either have to walk on, Starks would have to walk on, or someone like Henry would have to leave.

Something is missing here that we haven't been told yet.

Yeah, no room for Paul...maybe Starks was option 1 and Paul was option 2? And Paul is contingent on what happens with Starks.

Possibly, I just don't see the need for back to back visits then. Seems like it could add a lot of drama to the Paul recruitment now having to tell him to walk on the first season or whatnot.

It's hard to see it as contingent since the waiver is needed by Illinois and not specifically him.

LOL. "its all legit, they all have their degrees and their parents WANT to pay their own way"

Did not know that, thought it was on the player's side.

Either way, I just don't see them using a scholly this year and next year for Starks, so they must know it's going through.

Well I'm not sure what the rule is exactly, but Illinois has to be involved at some point. Or else there's nothing preventing him from getting a waiver and going to say Duke. Maybe the NCAA gives him a list of schools, but I have never heard of anything like that. I'm not sure how far he has to go with Illinois to get a waiver. I would think it would be registering for classes. Either way, yeah, I have to think Illinois knows it is a certainlty before taking him.

Darius Paul to Illinois.

I like it, he's a bigger body than Colbert and adds some good depth at PF in the future. I love the subtle shot that Paul's mom had about Bruce in her email about the transfer.

So with Henry most likely transferring, that leaves 2 open scholarships for 2014. I think our #1 priority is Cliff, 1A is Lyle. I personally really want Leron Black because I think he's pretty likely to stay or 3+ years and that gives a ton of talent/leadership to the program for a longer time.

What she say?

Mrs Paul isn't a bad lady but I've seen her embarrass herself at some of Brandon's high school games.

"If Illinois wants Darius, we would be very happy to give Darius our blessings to go there," Lynda wrote. "We love the University of Illinois and the current coaching staff."

Don't necessarily see that as a jab but Weber but ok.

The word "current" is unnecessary except to do exactly that.

At the very least, I've heard that she didn't like how Brandon was developed and how dysfunctional the old staff was. I'm not sure how true that is considering all "information" that I get is 3-4th hand at best.

I wouldn't like how Brandon was developed either, but Brandon might need to look in the mirror one of these days

I read that as an affirmation that they liked the coaching staff that took over the program in BP3's last year.

Looks like Transfer U 2.0 is playing at my Yellow Jackets in the ACC/Big10 challenge. GT should be pretty solid next year.

Haha, nice.

Indiana gets to play against the zone next year at Cuse.

I would have preferred Illinois/ND
