May 29, 201213 yr Author Axelrod and Doyle are making a pretty good case to be in the big leagues. Just maybe not the White Sox
May 30, 201213 yr Mitchell back up to .295. 2/3 HR, 2 RBI's 4 HR, 33 RBI's on the season, hitting 2nd now in the line-up. WHERE DOES HE PLAY, haha? Axelrod got hit hard tonight, but overall ERA still 2.36, which is great. Our old friend Nick Blackburn starting...sporting a 7.36 ERA Sean Burroughs, Valencia, Parmalee and Clete Thomas the only familiar names on that roster. Edited May 30, 201213 yr by caulfield12
May 30, 201213 yr Saladino back down to .228. Seems like his hot streak to return to respectability (at least batting average-wise) is over now, too. Dan Johnson still playing 3B for the Knights. Bayne doesn't look like he has much rope left in the BIRM starting rotation. Bruney having another very solid season for Charlotte, but probably won't see the big leagues again with the Sox in all likelihood. Edited May 30, 201213 yr by caulfield12
May 30, 201213 yr QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 29, 2012 -> 09:34 PM) Why is Bayne still in the Barons' rotation and when does Rienzo get reinstated? Roughly speaking, he's (Rienzo) got about 20 more games to go, +/- one.

Birmingham until at least September.

May 30, 201213 yr So, Dylan Axelrod is mortal. Actually, some pretty bad starting pitching in all the games. Mitchell has 7 triples, in about 1.5 months of play. Wow. I knew that park had big alleys, but still, that's impressive.

Hypothetically, the track for Mitchell could involve AAA next year, and then if everything goes well, big leagues if someone gets hurt or in 2014...which is the last year for Dunn's contract and Rios's contract, so it is at least plausible that one of them could be moved to create a spot for him, assuming things keep going. Then again, what's more likely, him sitting in AA-AAA or KW realizing he's an asset and moving him?
May 30, 201213 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 30, 2012 -> 08:55 AM) Hypothetically, the track for Mitchell could involve AAA next year, and then if everything goes well, big leagues if someone gets hurt or in 2014...which is the last year for Dunn's contract and Rios's contract, so it is at least plausible that one of them could be moved to create a spot for him, assuming things keep going. Then again, what's more likely, him sitting in AA-AAA or KW realizing he's an asset and moving him? I don't think KW would move Mitchell. He has a unique skillset that could make him the ideal leadoff hitter for years to come, which is something KW has been trying to find for years. I understand that De Aza is doing great right now, but Mitchell is much younger and would be a better fit IMO. Honestly, a 1/2 punch of Mitchell/De Aza could wreak havoc for a long, long time. Obviously Mitchell has a long ways to go before we pencil him into anything, but I think if he can keep up his current performance then he's practically untouchable for us. Also, I do agree that you find a way of moving Rios after the 2013 season if Mitchell looks legit.
