June 9, 201213 yr Well, Molina's given up 90 hits in 69 IP. That's not going to work, no matter how good his control is. Single, double, double, single, 3-0 now against the Barons...still batting in the 1st. 7 hits/15 AB's. ERA back up to 5.06 after getting down to 4.74 entering today. And then down to 4.66 by the end of the game. He pitched 7 innings, 8 Hits, 3 ER, 1 BB, 2 K. Clearly he shut it down the rest of the game.
June 10, 201213 yr @Intimidators Jeff Soptic just hit 101mph on the radar gun. #ZOOM! #blinkandyoumissedit
June 10, 201213 yr QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 11:21 AM) @Intimidators Jeff Soptic just hit 101mph on the radar gun. #ZOOM! #blinkandyoumissedit Only 2 hits given up in 20 at-bats, but 3 ER in 6 1/3 IP. 3 K's, you'd expect him to have 9 or 10, but that part of his game will come around as he learns to pitch and not just throw...the same type of transition Nathan Jones went through. Jared Mitchell 1/2 with 2 BB's. Continuing to put up good OBP numbers. .286. Edited June 10, 201213 yr by caulfield12

Given the low strikeout totals, I honestly think the Sox have him working on a pitch.
June 10, 201213 yr QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 02:44 AM) Given the low strikeout totals, I honestly think the Sox have him working on a pitch. I think it may be a symptom of the A-AA jump. If he's a strike thrower, in A ball, he probably got used to getting people out just by throwing strikes and getting ahead of them. Better competition in AA, now if he just throws a strike, it gets hit, got to instead learn how to work the corners and throw a ball that's just off the plate for an out.
