f***, Pahlsson had 5 times the value Handzus does at this point, and Pahlsson didn't have much value. Handzus is a 4th line center some nights/scratch most other nights. Um, "upgrade" over Jamal Mayers I guess?

So, still waiting for a legit move.

Also a 4th for that, not good at all.

Has he changed your mind at all yet?

No. He can win faceoffs, that's about it. But he's still as slow as molasses. He had that sweet assist against Nashville, so his offensive contribution with the Hawks is about tapped out.

If the hawks have a downfall, it's their lack of physical play - well besides the awful PP. Definitely worried about this come playoff time when it's a tighter game, more hits are finished, and goals are harder to come by.

That and Q will somehow pick the wrong goalie that gives up some softies in the first round.

Wouldn't mind seeing Dallas as the 8 after they unloaded at the deadline.

Agreed on the goalie comment.

Well if we play the playoffs like we did vs. St. Louis I'm less concerned about physical play than I was.

Absolute beauty of an assist by Kane last night.

He's been a very good fit on the 4th line and has logged some PK min as well. Definitely a positive move IMO.

He has made the team better so far at the very least.

Leafs/Wings at the Big House next year for the Winter Classic, as it was supposed to be this year.

What's that? There's more?

• Ducks vs. Kings at Dodger Stadium, Jan. 25

• Devils vs. Rangers at Yankee Stadium, Jan. 26

• Islanders vs. Rangers at Yankee Stadium, Jan 29

• Penguins at Blackhawks, Soldier Field, March 1

• Senators at Canucks, BC Place, March 2

Wow, they are really are gonna ride the outdoor game as long as they can. Surprised Chicago got another game so quick. Having an outdoor game in LA is cool, if they ice doesn't melt.

What's the Hawks magic # for the President's cup? Like 5 or 6?

4 points. Judging from the standings, if the Hawks get 4 points, the Penguins lose 4 possible points, or a combination of the two. Both teams have 4 games left.

So will the Hawks rest some key guys here once they clinch? A game or two off for Toews and Kane would be nice after this brutal schedule.

Pittsburgh lost, so the magic number is down to 2 points with 3 games left. They definitely should rest some guys Saturday night vs. STL. Back-to-back games, and the Blues' physical play leads to higher potential for injury.

At least don't play Hoss.

Sharp is back tonight and Drew LaBlanc,( pronounced LeBla ) the Hobey Baker winner, is centering for Kane and Sharp.

So what line is LeBlanc playing on, Sunday? I don't know anything about him. Offensive minded forward? Defensive? Physical? Speedy?

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/drew_leblanc/

LeBlanc is a 6’0”, 195-pound playmaking center that plays an intelligent two-way game. He also possesses some of the best hands in all of college hockey. His superb passing skills and great vision allow him to make plays that few other collegians can make. And it’s an attribute that hasn’t been lost on scouts, either. LeBlanc’s decision-making is excellent. He makes few mistakes and thinks the game remarkably well. He also has the ability to make those around him better. Although LeBlanc is known more for his playmaking ability, he has shown a knack for scoring timely goals, as well. One attribute that sets LeBlanc apart from many other collegiate players is his ability to create time and space for his teammates. He can control the tempo of the game and, with his tremendous patience with the puck, can allow teammates the time get into the best possible positions. LeBlanc is an excellent skater that moves exceedingly well with the puck. While he isn’t exceedingly fast, LeBlanc does have good speed, acceleration and can transition quickly. LeBlanc, who is one of St. Cloud State’s co-captains, also possesses strong leadership qualities.

He went undrafted out of high school.Broke a leg in college so got a 5th year at St. Cloud St. So he is 23 already.

On his 2nd shift Oilers score.LeBlanc promptly dropped to 3rd line as he was out of position.

Emery removed with 6 minutes left in 1st period most likely tweaking his lower body injury. 2-1 Hawks on goal by Toews and Kane after one.

Seven of the 27 previous President's Trophy winners won the Stanley Cup. Six of them failed to win a playoff series. Let's be part of the former not the latter please.

Jeez, I'm just making sure the Hawks don't get complacent with their trophy.
