They should have saved some of that money for a goalie and some defensemen.

I think Boston will be just fine. This was more of a must win for Chicago than Boston. They can still fall back on only needing to win one road game.

In 2011 they lost two heartbreaking games, then Nathan Horton got decapitated in game 3, yet they did OK.

Then again, their opponent was Luongo.

apparently Rask was pointing a lot of fingers in postgame

Fuuck Tuuka

I'm emotionally and physically exhausted. 7 hours of SRO and it was so worth it. What a game to be at.

If Horton's injury is serious, huge blow for the rest of the series.

Wow. Incredibly jealous. I bet that was amazing.

"I love shinpads" Classic

I feel asleep at 11:45 and missed the winning goal :(

Not as bad as the guy who extended his DVR 2 hours and the game went 6 seconds longer than his recording.

The double deflection to win the game is pretty sweet

BOLLE I LOVE YOU!

I LOVE SHINPADS!

The 2013 team is somehow going to go down as more enjoyable than the 2010 team - as long as they finish this off.

That is the ultimate in sucks.

Tough nailing down injury specifics during the playoffs. I'm hearing Nathan Horton's injury is not that bad, but he's doubtful for gm 2.

That 2010 team did have Burish & Buff though. Plus, the way it all just came together so quickly, I don't think anything will ever match the 2010 run IMO.

Nothing will match 2010 for a lot of reasons, mainly dealing with the rejuvenation of the franchise.

Don't forget that 2010 also had Versteeg and his awesome rapping.

"I was more frustrated that I missed it, and after I missed it I thought maybe a call because it was pretty obvious there was a stick in my foot. But you have to score those chances. You can’t let those slide by, especially in triple overtime," Daugavins said.

No dude, you dove looking for a call after you missed. Or as your coach would call it "embellished".

In a way, I feel more entitled, so to speak, to a SC than I did in 2010. In 2010, it was just unbelievable. We might have given lip service to that group being a possible SC winner, but it didn't feel real until it actually happened. Now that I know this core can win Stanley Cups, I feel like I borderline demand it, or expect it. It's a little like the Sox and the WS - 2005 was so magical (I know, the BHawks have a bit better SC pedigree than the modern day Sox) and while another WS would be so amazing, it would be a different feeling because winning WS became a new expectation of this franchise...this would have been a better analogy in a season like 2006, where it looked like we really had another WS winner on our hands.

This season has been extremely enjoyable, I mean...the streak, that was fantastic. This SC playoffs has been insanely enjoyable and the SCF looks to be on a similar pace...but I don't know if I'll have such a visceral, emotional feeling like last time.

...maybe I will :D

Well put, good explanation and I agree with most of it.

The emotions have been and will be intense, but nothing can ever touch 2010 due to the circumstances surrounding it.

I think 2010 will forever be the most precious of the SC wins... waited forever and my dad had waited a lot longer and the joy he had seeing them finally win! I will always remember that.

This run is just easier to enjoy for me. The last one my head was ready to explode.

Hopefully they pull it off. Seeing Saad and Shaw making such an impact last night was so exciting.

Jeremy Roenick crying got me:

I love those guys. Such likable players, awesome to know that they should be around for quite a while.

Love that JR quote, "it's the Chicago Blackhawks man"
