October 3, 201213 yr If the A's win, it's Ryan Dempster vs AJ Griffin tomorrow at 2:35 for the division.
October 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 10:58 PM) If the A's win, it's Ryan Dempster vs AJ Griffin tomorrow at 2:35 for the division. I would like to congratulate the Oakland A's on winning the AL West. Ok just kidding.
October 3, 201213 yr How crazy would it be if the A's won the division? Texas led the division 97% of the year.
October 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 11:40 PM) How crazy would it be if the A's won the division? Texas led the division 97% of the year. I'd love for A's and O's to win their respective division and let Rangers and NYY battle it out in the wild card knockout game.
October 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 10:58 PM) If the A's win, it's Ryan Dempster vs AJ Griffin tomorrow at 2:35 for the division. I have some serious questions regarding the A's rotation in the playoffs. Parker, Milone, Griffin, and Blackley? I don't know... Their offense really needs to step it up.
October 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 11:59 PM) If the Yankees win the East, the loser of the A's/Rangers game would host the Orioles on Friday. I want a Giants win/Dodgers eliminated tonight.
October 3, 201213 yr I deleted that last thing. I was looking at who holds tie-breakers. Orioles could have 94 wins.
October 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 12:03 AM) I want a Giants win/Dodgers eliminated tonight. I want the Dodgers out too, but I want the Braves to beat the Cardinals on Friday.
October 3, 201213 yr If the Dodgers lose do you think Kershaw pitches tomorrow?? I'm 11 Ks from winning my money league and he's somehow available. He's got a 1 something ERA vs SF. I'm torn between him and Chris Tillman who is also somehow available (I can only make one move)
October 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 09:50 PM) I have some serious questions regarding the A's rotation in the playoffs. Parker, Milone, Griffin, and Blackley? I don't know... Their offense really needs to step it up. They won 93 games with that rotation. As has Baltimore, and I couldn't name you one starter from that team. That is insanity. I don't know if that'll hold up in the playoffs. I mean ask the Twins of the last decade how it worked out for them in October without an Ace/MVP-type offensive player to rise up. It's why the Yankees always beat them. Speaking of which suddenly they look like the class of the AL heading into the playoffs. Ugh.

It's why the Yankees always beat them. Speaking of which suddenly they look like the class of the AL heading into the playoffs. Ugh. The O's have been real lucky this year. Their run differential is only +10. Oakland's pitching has been good in the regular season, but we'll see how it holds up against good offenses in October. Their offense is also heavily dependent on home runs. Those types of offenses tend to stall against really good pitching. So we'll see. Edited October 3, 201213 yr by chw42

He's opposing me in a fineal matchup.

October 3, 201213 yr Author The O's have been real lucky this year. Their run differential is only +10. They must be on quite a hot streak, as it was negative for most of the season.
October 3, 201213 yr Pretty cool that it comes down to the last day and a lot is up in the air. So we know the 5 AL teams in, but there's a lot of scenarios. Yankees win, they win the division and have the 1 seed. Yankees lose and Orioles win, they play a tiebreaker game Thursday for the division. Winner of Okaland/Texas wins the division. If the Yankees lose and Orioles win, you then have 3 teams tied with 94 wins...the winner of the Yankees/Orioles tiebreaker game would have the same record as the A's/Rangers winner, so I believe home field and #1 seed would go to head to head record between the two tied teams. NL the only battle is for the #1 seed, Washington and Cincy with same records...now sure who holds the head to head record advantage there if they tie.

October 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 10:42 AM) Washington has tiebreaker over Cincy. Hope A's can beat Dempster Texas.
October 3, 201213 yr With the division on the line in game 162, Ryan Dempster is pitching to his battery-mate Geovany Soto. "Headlines you wouldn't believe back in March"
October 4, 201213 yr Author With the division on the line in game 162, Ryan Dempster is pitching to his battery-mate Geovany Soto. "Headlines you wouldn't believe back in March" Rangers are now under .500 since acquiring Dempster/Soto. I guess they forgot to have them de-Cubbed before leaving Chicago.
