July 30, 201213 yr Per MLBTR the Red Sox are taking calls regarding Ryan Sweeney. Wonder if KW gives a call to them to help bolster the bench, & he could be a guy who gives DeAza, Rios, & Tank some breaks down the stretch. Wonder what they will be asking for in return?
July 30, 201213 yr Probably not enough of an upgrade over Danks to be worth it. Team needs infield depth more.
July 30, 201213 yr Sweeney is more experienced and would be a solid pinch-hitter, but bigger need in the infield, especially since I happen to have faith in Danks.

July 30, 201213 yr It would be nice to get Sweeney. However, we would have to give up something and Ventura barely plays his bench. And rosters expand in about a month. Going to be able to bring up a Johnson, Jackson, or Mitchell for some more OF depth. Jordan Dunks for about a month should provide enough backup OF coverage. Really need a guy who can backup 3B and SS right now. Of course Uribe would be great. And since Uribe could also backup 2nd, then Orlando Odawg could be replaced.
