8/24 Mariners at White Sox

I'd guess Downs against Boesch, then PROBABLY Richards against Young and Peralta.

Probably will be a nail-biter again.

Hopefully Dotel gives up 1 or 2 here to add some cushion.

Nice play, Tank!

Brendan Ryan is so bad.

Forgot about Jepsen.

So it's Downs for Boesch, then Jepsen....with Richards the emergency back-up option.

First 0-5 game for Trout in nearly 3 months

Great job by Peavy of battling tonight....great effort

Downs indeed staying in for the Halos.

Wanted the Rays to wipe out the A's.

Doesn't look like it will happen. Jays threatening a mini-comeback against the O's.

Guess Jepsen has pitched the last 2-3 games in a row, so it can't be Jepsen, can it?

Garrett Richards in a rare save opportunity, he throws heat but he's seen more as a starting candidate in the future.

Seems that's been the motto of his season (with all the close losses) for the last 2-3 months.

Battler/bulldog, to bring back the old Greg Hibbard nickname.

Richards has never had a save in his entire professional career.

He also got rocked last night by the Red Sox.

Tigers go down.

Let's extend the lead, boys.

Det loses 2-1

As DAllen said, Greinke a great contributor to the Sox since the deadline!

"The Dodgers are expected to pick up more than $260MM of the $271.5MM in combined salary that the Red Sox are sending to them, a source tells Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald."

Dodgers are f***ing idiots.

Rays had three chances to tie with runner on 2nd and no outs, couldn't do it against Balfour.

TB and Sox would be tied at 14 games over .500, Balt and Oak at 11 over, Tigers 9, Angels 5.

Hopefully sweeping the Red Sox and winning that game tonight in DET will get the Angels on another mini-run like when Trout came up...as long as they're not facing us, they can knock out the A's, too, hopefully.

Mow 'em down Matt!

The A's schedule the last month of the season is incredibly difficult

Sox 7-2 thru 7

Good work, Thornton!

MT quick inning

Will Myers finish nthe game? If so, it pretty much answers the question brought up in earlier thread. ($10,000,000 bonus for 2013).

Dayan hit a 96 MPH fastball there.

That's encouraging.

Sox 7-2 thru 8

Humber to relive the good feelings of his perfecto here (hopefully).
