Itsallgood

1. Miami vice guy has a history of clutch hits and has been hitting well in Charlotte.

2. Odawg. Is he good? I dont know. Seems like we win more when he is around. So do something good ODA

3. DA DA...I miss you. Look forward to your return. You seem to ignite our lineup of bombs, missiles, youks, Kongs, and tanks.

No Morel? That cant be good for him. I bet this means Youk is back next year if brent isnt even up here as a D replacement.

Barring something unforeseen (deep postseason run), I think they'd pick up Youk's option only if they could shed some salary elsewhere. Say a Thornton or Ramirez. They're going to have to use whatever available funds they have first to figure out the rotation.

Why would they be trading Ramirez, exactly?

He's been more productive than Konerko the last 3 months of the season.

Don't tell me the new solution is Beckham or Carlos Sanchez at SS.

You don't take one of the strengths of your team and make it a weakness unless you can get a definite upgrade.

Because he's in decline and they have to pay him 3 more years.

Then come up with a trade that will net an upgrade over your oft-mentioned "declining asset" who is not named Beckham, Saladino or Sanchez...

Beckham would be, at best, an average MLB SS. Sanchez is at least 4-5 months of seasoning away, and hasn't even played SS on an everyday basis. Many prognosticators would rather have him play 2B, then 3B, then SS, in that order.

Saladino, some of the same concerns as Sanchez. He's just not ready to play major league SS, offensively or defensively.

I'd rather have a left side of the IF of unnamed at short and Youkillis at third than Ramirez at short and Morel at third next year.

You're still adding quite a bit to the payroll for 2013 with that plan in mind.

Problem number 2 is that Morel is still our back-up 3B and he's just not ready to play full-time again if Youk is hurt or hurting for a longer stretch of time.

It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that Sanchez or Saladino could end up playing 3B.

Hmmmm.......maybe by not over paying Peavy. Hopefully Kenny will find a NL to take Dunn. He's not an AL hitter. You will never fill the hole at 3rd on the cheap. Even paying Youk his option is probably worth less headaches than they've experienced. (see Josh Fields, Mark Teahen-I don't care if I spell his name wrong)

I would also imagine the ownership expects an attendance increase after this season.
