  1. Does that mean they have to remove someone who is currently on Charlotte's roster?
  2. http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=2...94&sid=t494 Wasn't sure if this was already brought up somewhere, but here's the Charlotte Roster...
  3. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 15, 2014 -> 02:47 PM) Absolutely no trade value whatsoever. Leesman was DFA'd and no one claimed him last year. Claimed by Texas. He rejected the claim http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blogpos...amp;src=desktop
  4. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 15, 2013 -> 02:15 AM) He was removed from the 40-man roster and cleared waivers, which means no team in baseball thought he was worth a 40-man roster spot. The Sox re-signed him after he was a free agent. The stats are great, but he's not a prospect if he cleared waivers at 26 years old. Your definition of home grown is strange and contrived IMO. Even then, Gillaspie was another team's supplemental pick, he didn't play in the minors with the Sox and he's not even that good anyway. I'll give you Axelrod and Quintana because they play in the minors with the Sox, but De Aza is another bad choice. He already lost his rookie status before coming to the Sox. Still, by my count 13 of the current 25 are home grown (I didn't count John Danks either). 13 is a good number, but given the team's record we'd probably be happier if it was closer to 8. He was claimed by the Texas rangers and he rejected the claim to stay with the white sox. He also tore his ACL last fall. I think people forget that.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 09:04 PM) Correct, but by next Monday Purcey could be DFA'd, or some other move could be made with the 40-man (maybe Jhan Marinez). Johnson wouldn't be added officially until he has to. Thanks for clarifying..I wasn't really sure how that worked!
  6. Wasn't the 40 man filled this morning with the call up of Purcey? So, Johnson couldn't have been called up because there was no open roster spot.. right?
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 13, 2013 -> 01:16 PM) Hankerd was a minor league ringer, not a prospect really, and he went to another org. Shirek was just stuck behind too many people, and elected to go pitch in Korea. He may show up on major league radars again in the future. Leesman was indeed a prospect, always sort of a mysterious one. He was put on waivers recently, claimed by Texas, Texas assigned him to AAA, he rejected the assignment and went FA, and the Sox picked him back up. He was injured in the playoffs last year, and was still just recovering when he was waived. So he's probably back in AZ now, waiting for a chance with Charlotte to open up. Leesman will be in Charlotte in a few weeks. During the DFA he wasn't allowed to do anything, so it set him back a few more weeks. It's not about a spot opening up, he is building his innings back up. Also, Shirek is doing very well in Korea.
  8. Leesman's ETA for Charlotte is May 1st. Was hitting 92 on the radar yesterday.
  9. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 11, 2013 -> 07:42 PM) I see Axelrod, Omogrosso, & Septimo as the last three pitchers cut as they pretty much cover all your bases. Morel will probably be the last position player cut. Short of an injury, there shouldn't be any surprises. Isn't Septimo out of options?
  10. http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=2...;vkey=news_milb Nice Article... lots of guys from the lower levels though.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 01:51 PM) His wife just tweeted this... Amanda McCarthy ‏@Mrs_McCarthy32 First walk!! Success- I am guessing that means they walked him, which is also a very good sign. I am happy to see Brandon progressing as well. Brandon made a fan of me a long time ago, and I wish him nothing but the best. Bless her heart... and I feel for the kid who hit the ball...
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 01:40 PM) http://aol.sportingnews.com/mlb/story/2012...f-icu-brain-inj Well thank God... Thanks for sharing that, really happy to hear that
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 01:07 PM) Apparently Brandon is out of ICU, which is a good sign. Really? that's awesome news! I didn't hear that, I heard its still hurting him to talk... but he recognizes everyone who visits, so that's good too
