GT: 9/23: Sox vs. Angels

Featured Replies

Doesn't even matter, Gavin just ended the game and made it academic.

No need to call Viciedo names, it wasn't an easy ball to cut off with the backhand, and who really expected to beat Weaver in a must-win game for the Angels anyways?

Probably nobody....as evidenced by the dead gamethread.

dead game thread because it's football sunday.

Fine, then bat him at 5. Good luck finding a left handed bat that gives you 40&100 on the free agent market

So far the Sox haven't.

No idea why Viciedo just hasn't been permanently benched (outside of facing LHP). He sucks at the plate and his defense has been awful of late as well.

Would it really even matter?

We were losing this game no matter what after we let Weaver off the hook in the first inning.

The only surprise is how far along Floyd got before imploding.

Yeah, the three stooges, Viciedo as curly, Ramirez as Larry and de aza as moe

We should forfeit the remainder of the season. What an embarrassment.

Cleveland's scored as many runs today as the Sox have scored all week.

And five losses in a row. And Jered Weaver on the bump.

Might as well be wearing a Santana or Sabathia jersey.

What a choke job.

Everybody on the offense can't hit for s*** when guys are on base. It's unfair to expect our pitchers to throw shutouts every night.

No emotion from these guys... 2 of the three stooges up in this inning

BTW, that inning all started cause Gavin used his crappy cutter on 4 straight pitches to walk Trout. None of that damage came on his curve that inning.

Baron was giving me a hard time for suggesting that we should bench Paulie, Youk and Dunn...

whatever man, we havent scored for weeks. We got swept.

Whats the worst that could have happened if we benched all our underperforming vets? We get swept?

Oh that happened any way

Thank you Gavin for your 5 plus innings......................then you always piss your pants.

What a strange feeling, going to those Indians games will be, for someone.

We could still be in first place by one game, the way we've been playing this week.

Hopefully momentum (big victory today over KC on the road) or karma doesn't exist, or the Indians will sweep us and get revenge for 2005 during the final week of the season.

I don't know. If the season ends like this....with these consistently atrocious performances, this offseason might be as equally depressing as last year's.

We are an awful baseball team right now, but what's funny is Detroit is just as bad. That 6th inning today was the worst I've ever seen defensively from a "contender". So who knows maybe we'll still be the tallest midget in the central

If the offense keeps this crap up for the next 10 games, it will be interesting if there's a scapegoat.

Cause AJ sucks at game calling lately

Angels in the playoff race and showing they belong. We're in the middle of the race and playing as if it were spring training.

AJ already 0-2

Look at the bright side: it's not like the Rays are hot right now

They won 7 of their last 10 heading into today.

That would have been nice in the first inning A.J....

AJ Run dammit

Curly up at the plate.....

But people will say the Sox swept them earlier in the year, even though that was without Longoria.
