I like how he buried himself in the sand on the beach and put a box over his head, and that is how he eluded police. Thats straight out of a Pink Panther movie

Meanwhile Andrej Kaspersky was cited for soliciting a prostitute and public urination.

I remember some guy at a company that i had worked at wanted to convert every one of our linux servers to use ReiserFS. The timing on it was great because the creator of Reiser just got arrested for murder. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Reiser

The McAfee story really is twisted. Earlier this year the Belize police raided his house because they thought he was running a meth lab(the charges were later dropped). After that he apparently became more and more paranoid that the police were watching and stalking him. McAfee has admitted to dealings with the gangs on the island too, so he has a shady reputation.

His story is that the neighbor was killed after the dogs were poisoned so that it would look like he had a motive, and then the police could kill him when they brought him in for questioning.

One other thing, apparently his 100 million dollar fortune is dwindled to 4 million in a few short years.

What I heard on the radio last night was that nobody is really sure how much he made when he left McAfee and that the only source of the figures on his wealth were, most likely, McAfee himself. Meaning that they should be taken with a grain of salt.

Gizmodo had a story about how he experienced with a bunch of exotic drugs and posted about it on some European forum about them. Just some weird stuff. Especially from a guy who's pretty rich and is pretty well known in the tech industry.

One of those facts are stranger than fiction stories.

Paranoia, mixed with hubris and extreme narcissism.

A bit of Oliver Stone mixed with Richard Branson, and then cross it with a dose of "it could only happen in some random Central American country."

Sounds like my latest sex odyssey

He built a home down here across from South Padre Island. He lost "only" $2,000,000 when he sold it at auction. Nice enough place, the new owners allowed us to use it for a Boy Scout fundraiser. Some of the locals talked about how strange he was. And coming from that area, you really have to distinguish yourself to be labeled strange.
