April 10, 201313 yr Charlotte lost. Mitchell...not a good start to his season. System is gross. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20130410
April 10, 201313 yr At least the White Sox had prospects in the lineup. Everyone that played for Norfolk today is AAAA garbage.
April 10, 201313 yr QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) At least the White Sox had prospects in the lineup. Everyone that played for Norfolk today is AAAA garbage. Yeah, people tend to forget that most AAA teams are 50% or more non-prospects, AAAA guys, filler, insurance on major leaguers, etc. CHarlotte has 3 or 4 real prospects in the usual lineup, which is probably pretty average. Also, Mitchell and Morel both struggling so far, but it is still way early.
April 10, 201313 yr Maybe Mitchell will end up hot instead of starting out hot and then fading. He has been so inconsistent. And you might as well forget about "hot" springs. Mitchell, Keppinger, Loman...they were all very good in AZ and it didn't carry over at all into the regular season. But yeah, the only prospects to watch are Mitchell and especially Sanchez. Thankfully, Hawkins hit a HR already for W-S. And Mitchell's only a 4/7 stretch from being back at .200. Averages aren't so important until you get into May. Edited April 10, 201313 yr by caulfield12
April 10, 201313 yr Author Hawkins homer. Hit it off Eduardo Rodriguez. Lefty. No. 3 prospect of Orioles. Edited April 10, 201313 yr by flavum
April 11, 201313 yr Author QUOTE (DirtySox @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 06:36 PM) Hawkins with another HR. Giggity. May have to listen to his next AB. http://media4.aicmail.net:8080/MiLB/GameAu...ston-salem_dash
April 11, 201313 yr Author QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 07:15 PM) Loser! Trade his ass! I know. I've seen enough.
April 11, 201313 yr It will be nice when Barmum is healthy and hopefully assigned to low A. Kannopolis' lineup is practically void of actual prospects.
April 11, 201313 yr Thank god for Williams/Hahn/Marco Paddy that Santos hasn't done anything for the Blue Jays. We've struck out with both Zach Stewart and Molina so far. Not the greatest track record for somebody who should have intimate knowledge of their system. Hawkins, mirroring the major league team, added 2 K's to finish the evening. Now 3/15 on the year. April 11, 201313 yr QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 08:08 PM) I'm pretty sure that Paddy was hired after the Edwin Jackson trade. Hard to say what really happened...it might have been one of this situations like the Cubs with Hoyer that they were already talking to Paddy about bringing him over when that trade took place...although if they got caught, it would be considered tampering or the baseball version of "insider trading."
April 11, 201313 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 08:42 PM) Thank god for Williams/Hahn/Marco Paddy that Santos hasn't done anything for the Blue Jays. That's actually very unfortunate. I really liked Sergio Santos, and he was an incredible reliever with the Sox. The Sox return be damned, I wished Santos would find some health and success. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 09:10 PM) Hard to say what really happened...it might have been one of this situations like the Cubs with Hoyer that they were already talking to Paddy about bringing him over when that trade took place...although if they got caught, it would be considered tampering or the baseball version of "insider trading." You can speculate all you'd like. Fact is, he was brought in afterwards.

Averages aren't so important until you get into May. Random and strange post is random and strange. Loman has been a beast so far in Charlotte, slugging over .700 and OBP over .500. I can only assume you mean there are only Mitchell and Sanchez to follow in Charlotte... in which case... Castro? Rienzo? Phegley? And how do you lump Keppinger (a major leaguer), Mitchell (a decent prospect) and Loman (an insurance policy at best) into the same analysis?

And how do you lump Keppinger (a major leaguer), Mitchell (a decent prospect) and Loman (an insurance policy at best) into the same analysis? Josh Phegley is a serious prospect? Okay, if you say so. Castro and Rienzo have passed Molina, but there's going to be suspicions now about Andre because of the PED's case last year. We can keep repeating their names, but that doesn't mean scouts are in love with them as much as some who follow the Sox minors closely. Those three examples are random because no matter how a player does in spring training, 95% of the time it doesn't translate. Remember Wilson Betemit's 8 HR spring? The White Sox couldn't get rid of him quickly enough...which probably wasn't the best move on their part, as it turned out. Thanks for attempting to characterize my post with your apt adjectives, though.
