Cose has had a nice start to the year

Puig strikes out against Erik Johnson after trying to lay one down on the first pitch to move the runner over.

Maybe all Cubans have a hard time SAC bunting...announcers joking he's probably not going to be doing that much at the major league level.

Has given up a line drive to the 2nd hitter in the CHATT line-up (Peterson)...who has a 10+ game hit streak going.

It's SaladINO, not SalaDANO, lol...at least the guy's radio partner corrected that one.

Saladino picked off 1B after a walk.

1-2-3 for Johnson in the bottom of the 2nd, another K.

My bad bro

He was at 4 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 4 K

Then, 4.1 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 4 K

uh-oh.

2 run homer given up by Johnson to John Peterson, probably wind-aided.

HBP, 3-6-3 double play but then a four pitch walk and a homer by Peterson, who now has 2 hits.

2-0 Lookouts.

Puig hits a frozen rope almost right at Saladino.

You don't bunt, or walk for that matter, your way out of Cuba. I'm sure that is not a point of emphasis for those looking to make the jump.

Don't like the bunt in the first inning, but Sanchez with a sacrifice.

Hawkins--K

Another real good start for Johnson. Pederson on the Dodgers is a nice prospect.

Wouldn't shock me to see Johnson get a look in September.

I'd rather see him now instead of Floyd to be honest haha

24 K's for Hawkins in 38 AB's.

Still has a 700 OPS.

.158 AVG.

It's going to be interesting to see how long they let this go on...if he can make adjustments or they'll try to rebuild his confidence by sending him to Kanny.

IMO, you have to give him at least 100 AB's to right the ship.

Hawkins hr #5

First "two outcome" player ever?

Hawkins homer came after the starter retired the first 13 batters, with 8 k's.

You have to hope those five homers (at least two and I think three against top opposing pitching prospects) will give him the confidence he needs to settle in and build his average back up into the mid 200's.

I would be happy with anything above a .240/.250 average for a kid that raw at age 19 playing in High A ball.

And hopefully he can start picking up some walks and improving his plate discipline a bit.

Why yes, I do generally hope that prospects get better at all aspects of their game.

Nice start for Chris Bassitt.

Jared Mitchell...what a wreck.

Hawkins now with 25 K's in 40 AB's (43 PA).

Mitchell at least has 9 BB's, there's that. Same number of K's as Hawkins, but only two doubles and no homers.

Especially 19 year old ones.
