For me, it would be a tough call between Star Trek and Fast and the Furious.

To be honest, I'd never watched the t.v. show or any of the movies....maybe a few of the Patrick Stewart/Wil Wheaton shows on t.v. if I was incredibly bored.

But I really enjoyed the last Star Trek, thought Pine and Quinto were great....everything except for Eric Bana's villain. And Zoe Saldana isn't too tough on the eyes.

On the other hand, the last Fast & The Furious was the second best movie in that series.

Amazing to think where it came from....straight to DVD "Toyko Drift" with a no-name B movie cast to one of the biggest and most successful franchises on the market today.

Haven't been following the cast/crew announcements or much of the pre build-up. But, as with Zoe Saldana, always a sucker for any movie Eva Mendes is in. And, I think this one will have a hard time topping the last movie in the series, Fab Five.

Definitely will see Gatsby as 3rd choice, and I'm 50/50 about The Hangover. Will wait on the reviews. The last one was super disappointing, so I guess it's hard to imagine this one being worse.

None of the Above, Man of Steel

That's June 14th.

FF6. I don't care how bad the movie is, the first one was a instant classic for a 17yo at the time, been following the series ever since.

my favorite part of this thread is that even caulfield's thread titles are too long.

that said, I went with Star Trek.

But I shall see them all

none

Ugh, who chose Hangover III? The first was so overrated (ok, not great) and the second was atrocious.

I did. They both made me laugh a lot and entertained me for two hours. Sometimes that's all that matters with a movie, it doesn't have to be a "good" movie.

And I've never seen a single Star Trek episode, don't care about Gatsby, and had no idea there were any more Fast & Furious after Tokyo Drift.

Yeah, pretty funny that you single-out the Hangover amongst this group...;)

Im confused. The first fast and furious movie was not Tokyo Drift. The original had Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Michelle Rodriquez

Id pick Star Trek, not really a fan of the old stuff but the reboot was good.

I did too.

Never had any interest in the Star Trek franchise, the Fast and the Furious franchise should have ended after the first film and wasn't a fan of the Great Gatsby novel so...

Yea I dont know what he is talking about either. Tokyo Drift is actually the 3rd film in the series. It isnt really all amazing that the film series came this far, the first film was a huge success, and ever since they reunited the original cast starting with the 4th movie(Fast and Furious) the film series once again became a big hit.

y'all are lame. i'm stoked about all four. Hangover 2 was the exact same movie as #1, but that's what I was expecting. 3 will probably be terrible but who cares? I love Baz Luhrman, love the F+F franchise and Star Trek is amazing. All of 'em. I've watched every episode of TNG, DS9, and I'm almost through Voyager. But I'm also a loser. :)

Where did I ever say Tokyo Drift with Lucas Black was the first movie? Amazing to think where it came from First movie great, second movie without the whole original cast decent but nothing like the sensation the first movie was...

C'mon. 98% of the people who post in movie threads here or pay any attention at all to popular culture know the origin of that series.

Do I REALLY need to provide a history of all the movies to place Tokyo Drift in proper context?

I don't get it. If I don't provide enough information because it requires reading/writing a longer post, nobody's happy, lol.

Then, when I don't explain why Vin Diesel or Jordana Brewster or Michelle Rodriguez disappeared from the series...eventually leading to the no-name TD (unless you count the Japanese actress who was actually more famous as a model at the time she took that part)...well, I've never met anyone in my life who thought that debuting a series with a movie with limited appeal (only to the Asian market) would make any sense at all. Heck, Formula 1/Street Racing isn't even close to a cultural phenomenon here in China, YET. Maybe a decade from now.

Who has seen THE GREAT GATSBY?

A bit surprising debut...more popular than expected. Most were projecting high 30's/low 40's opening, but it's going to end up well over $50 million, competing against the 2nd weekend of Iron Man 3.
