June 7, 201312 yr http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20130607 Charlotte in Pawtucket rained out.
June 7, 201312 yr First three guys hit safely against Zimmer -- and then Hawkins delivers a two-run double. Five hits and five runs. Zimmer leaves after 2/3.
June 8, 201312 yr QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 05:43 PM) First three guys hit safely against Zimmer -- and then Hawkins delivers a two-run double. Five hits and five runs. Zimmer leaves after 2/3. Poor Royals. Bubba Starling hasn't been lighting the world on fire, either. Plus, Wil Myers has been on a tear.
June 8, 201312 yr QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 8, 2013 -> 12:43 AM) First three guys hit safely against Zimmer -- and then Hawkins delivers a two-run double. Five hits and five runs. Zimmer leaves after 2/3. A double and a triple now.
June 8, 201312 yr We're at the point in this season where what Phegley, Johnson, Beck, Sanchez, Thompson, Hawkins and the others are doing means more to me than what is happening at 35th and Dan Ryan.
June 8, 201312 yr QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 08:20 PM) We're at the point in this season where what Phegley, Johnson, Beck, Sanchez, Thompson, Hawkins and the others are doing means more to me than what is happening at 35th and Dan Ryan. Oh, definitely. I check the minor league gameday threads with optimism each day.
June 8, 201312 yr Courtney Hawkins really looking good since the injury. 2 for 2 today with a triple & a double & he has 3 homers this week as well. Up to 10 homers on the year.
June 8, 201312 yr QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 08:30 PM) Courtney Hawkins really looking good since the injury. 2 for 2 today with a triple & a double & he has 3 homers this week as well. Up to 10 homers on the year. Wind blowing in from dead center too.
June 8, 201312 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 09:31 PM) CG Shutout for Beck. 5 hits, 0 bb, 7 k. ERA down to 2.79
June 8, 201312 yr QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 08:34 PM) Best game of the year for Beck? I'd wager so. First one I recall with a significant amount of K's.
June 8, 201312 yr Thompson is our most ready OF prospect -- and I don't expect to see him until June/July 2014 at the earliest. Unlike a few others, Sox have not rushed him. He seems to have developed the ability to overcome adversity, critical to success in the big leagues. He's got a chance, which is something I can't say about Mitchell or Walker.
June 8, 201312 yr QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 8, 2013 -> 03:22 AM) Thompson is our most ready OF prospect -- and I don't expect to see him until June/July 2014 at the earliest. Unlike a few others, Sox have not rushed him. He seems to have developed the ability to overcome adversity, critical to success in the big leagues. He's got a chance, which is something I can't say about Mitchell or Walker. Walker has a slight chance, but yeah, Mitchell probably should just be traded in a bust prospect for bust prospect deal. Thompson's showing some great progress this year with his BB/K ratio.
June 8, 201312 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 10:26 PM) Walker has a slight chance, but yeah, Mitchell probably should just be traded in a bust prospect for bust prospect deal. Thompson's showing some great progress this year with his BB/K ratio. Walker is starting to come around. He probably should have begun the year in A+, so a slow start should have been somewhat expected. He's only 22 years old, so he's still got some time to improve. Mitchell however is a straight up bust. I doubt you'd get much of anything for him, so I'd probably just hold on to him and hope for a miracle rather than take some other team's garbage.
June 8, 201312 yr QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jun 8, 2013 -> 05:32 AM) Well if some other team's garbage a failed pitching prospect... I would trust our system more with a pitcher instead of Mitchell. ditto.
June 8, 201312 yr Mitchell 27 Ks in 53 at bats in his second attempt at AA. Maybe he can be traded to the Bears. lost cause. Edited June 8, 201312 yr by winninguglyin83
June 8, 201312 yr QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 8, 2013 -> 12:49 AM) Mitchell 27 Ks in 53 at bats in his second attempt at AAA. Maybe he can be traded to the Bears. lost cause. He is certainly GREAT at one thing
June 8, 201312 yr Somehow, Mitchell is making Adam Dunn look good. Combined .143 average between AA and AAA. And we thought Michael Jordan was bad.
