I fully believe Gilespie is the starting3B opening day and Phegley will end up as the starter at some point.

 

However Davidson will replace Connor eventually.

I think they already thought he would spend at least 2 months down there. He is the future over there though.

I agree with the Gillaspie/Davidson part. But I think Phegley starts in AAA and they give his spot to Nieto until either Nieto proves worthless, or Phegley improves his game in Charlotte.

I'd be surprised if even a solid spring is enough to put Phegley starting in the bigs after how he ended last year, but if he hits at Charlotte like he did last year he will be back soon.

I agree that Flowers is the worst, I just think they will use Phegley's option and Nieto's Rule-5 restrictions to keep Flowers on the major league team.

Man, Marcus Semien just slashed that double in the gap. He's got a strong looking stance and swing. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a 15-20 HR guy in the majors at 2B.

He's shown some decent pop in the minors. We'll see if he gets the AB's to do it. It will be a battle royale between him, Carlos and possibly Micah to see who gets the call after we move Gordo.

It would surprise me a lot if Nieto made the team. He'd have to be on the roster all year. That ain't gonna happen.

He doesn't have to be on the roster all year, he just has to be on the roster until we give him back to his old team. The only way we can take a look at all 3 guys at once is to send Phegs to AAA and have Nieto and Flowers platoon. Not saying that will happen, but with no clear winner and Phegley being the only one of the 3 guys with a clear path back to AAA, I'd like to think that's the direction they should take.
